When the Henderson Independent School District was established in 1907, it had but one elementary school. In 1912, the school moved to its current site and began serving students from grades 1-6. The district’s first high school opened in 1923, and since then, Henderson has enjoyed a rich shooter gift history. In 1934, the town of Henderson donated a .22 rifle to the Henderson ISD as part of an educational donation program. To help address this issue, donations were made from members of Congress including then-Upper Midwest Representative Bill Salazar (D-CO), who offered $10,000 towards buying new guns for Distribution Services Middleton Incorporated (DSMI) – which served as purchasing agent for handguns for Serbian elementary schools throughout Yugoslavia – among other initiatives such as providing ammunition magazines capacity up to 10 rounds per gun! DSMI later became known as United Firearms Corporation (UFC) after being bought out by Iver Johnson & Sons Incorporated (IJS) in 1995; UFC manages all handgun sales within theidoisdistrict nowadays! Despite these challenges faced by Yugoslavian educators during this time period (i.e., lack of modern weaponry), some amazing shooter gifts have been bestowed upon them through the years! A few examples include: 1) In 2000, DSMI donated 4 AK rifles (.50 BMG) that had been modified with custom sights specifically designed for use by Serbian elementary teachers across Yugoslavia; 2) In 2001, DSMI contributed 2 M4A1 rifles (.50 caliber) that had originally come from Bulgaria;3) In 2002-2003 alone*, DSMI gave away over 20 pistols (.380 caliber), shotguns (12 gauge chambered for 3/8 inch slugs only), assault rifles (*= previously available only through private dealers), rimfire pistols **(9mm Luger/P238 service ammo only), sniper rifles ***(AR15/WMR models only!), grenades *****(M203 grenade launcher variant like those seen on soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan), etc.;4) In 2004-2005 alone*, UFC donated firearms worth $160K** jointly with Springfield Armory;5* There have also been numerous Kidz Guns given away through various programs spanning multiple years - see below under "Programs" heading * denotes items given away more than once

Henderson, Texas is an unincorporated community located in Coleman County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Henderson was established in 1881 as a town and remained that way until it became an incorporated municipality on May 15, 1907. Henderson's ZIP code 77501 serves as its mailing address. The name Henderson comes from the old Indian word "henda" meaning "a place where people can gather." The first white settlers in what is now Coleman County were prospectors who discovered oil shale near present-day Henderson in 1881. They named their new settlement after General James Hendersons former cavalry regiment which fought against Mexican forces during the American Civil War. The town of Henderson grew rapidly and by 1901 had a population of over 200 residents. In 1907, Henderson became an incorporated municipality with a total population of 3,500 people. In 1916, World War I began and the town saw increased activity due to the war effort; however, soon after the end of fighting there was a decrease in activity because many soldiers returned home and there wasn't much left to do in what had been such an active community during wartime. However, following World War II there was again growth as businesses opened up within driving distance of Henderson and more people moved into the area because of its good quality schools and availability of jobs throughout Mesquite and nearby Irvington townships. The economy has since softened somewhat due to suburbanization but remains strong enough for small businesses to thrive despite competition from larger companies within Mesquite proper or neighboring Irvington townships
