Gourmet Coffee has been in business in Hereford, Texas since the early 1800s. The coffee company was founded by John R. McLeod and his brother-in-law, Abram Butterfield. Gourmet Coffee began producing its own coffee beans and selling them direct to consumers. By the late 1800s, Gourmet Coffee had developed a reputation for quality coffee products. In 1903, the company became a subsidiary of Jardine Bros. Ltd., which also included Brown's Grocery and Armoury grocery stores in Houston, Texas. In 1915, Gourmet Coffee relocated its production to Illinois but continued to sell coffee through its subsidiaries in Texas and Houston until it merged with Dutch Bros., Incorporated in 1970. From 1970 through 1990, Gourmet Coffee produced over 1 million pounds of coffee per year. Today, Gourmet Coffee is one of the largest roasting companies in the world with operations located throughout North America and Europe.

The Hereford Coffee Company was founded in 1915 by Mr. and Mrs. John Fenton. The coffee company grew rapidly, and in 1923 they opened a roastery in the heart of downtown Hereford. In 1954, the coffee company became part of Peet's Coffee Corporation.
Hereford, Texas is a small town located in the Midwestern United States. The population was 3,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo–Bedrock local government area. Hereford is known for its wide variety of crops and livestock, including cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, and poultry. There are also a few stores and restaurants in the town. The first settler in Hereford was Abram Sevier who arrived in 1877. He land grant to John Chamberlain which later became Hereford County. Hereford had a post office from 1865 to 1867 and from 1870 to 1875. A store was built on Main Street in 1886 by Jno Higginson. In 1907 an oil well was drilled near here and a boomtown began to form with people coming from all over America to find work in the oil industry. However, within 2 years most of the businesses were closed due to depletion of resources and then an economic recession hit this area hard. In 1941 there were only 350 residents living in Hereford when World War II began; By 1945 there were only 120 residents remaining following the end of hostilities. After the war many veterans returned home but some decided not to move back because they felt that their old community had been lost forever during prohibition days when alcohol was legal here (it wasn’t). The present day economy of Hereford is based primarily on agriculture with some small businesses also involved such as manufacturing or retailing services outside ofHereford itself

This increase in production also resulted in more variety on store shelves, making it easier for consumers to find what they were looking for when shopping for their morning caffeine fix. By 1900, however, beginning World War I had caused a significant decrease in world demand for coffee beans as countries went into economizing mode; however, Italian farmers continued to roast high-quality beans under traditional methods until shortly before World War II when industrial processes replaced manual roasting on farms with an aim of producing uniformity across all grades from raw materials through finished product (Fowler). In recent decades there has been increasing interest among enthusiasts and professional brewers alike in trying out new styles of coffee such as Ethiopian wafers or Jamaican Jerk Telephony Weave (JTWC), both of which are unique strains grown specifically within certain regions of those countries’ continents (see Table 1). These new brewing techniques allow brewers greater control over flavor profile and dynamics compared with traditional methods that involve stirring or boiling water directly over grounds prior to serving (Brewer). While these innovations may initially seem like fringe activities at best—or even gimmicks unworthy of serious attention—the trend gradually gains traction among craft brewers because they offer a unique level experience not possible using other brewing technologies commonly used within large chain stores or commercial breweries (Goudreau et al.). There are several farms located within the town limits which provide employment for many residents. Some important industries which have been headquartered in or close to Hereford include: Ford Motor Co., Pfizer Pharmaceuticals (now Janssen Pharmaceuticals), ExxonMobil Corporation (nicknamed "the Mobil Oil Company"), Texaco Inc., and Pabst Brewing Co.. In addition to its agricultural products and businesses, Hereford has become known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration which takes place during September or October. This festival features traditional German music and food along with parade floats and other attractions.

Hereford experienced some growth during World War II as the local military base opened up and served as a major logistical hub for the war effort. In 1949, here developed into an agricultural center with production of hay, cotton, cattle and other crops marking a period of prosperity for the town. In recent years, however, Hereford has seen steady decline in population due to various factors including development outside of its borders and increasing competition from neighboring towns.
