In 1887, the first commercial roasting plant was erected in this small town. Over time, Hereford became a major center for coffee production and processing. By the early 1970s, Hereford had become one of the leading coffee producing towns in Texas. Today, Hereford is home to several large-scale coffee roasters as well as many small-scale farmers markets that serve local produce from across the state. The town remains an important cultural and economic center for the region and its residents have made it their goal to maintain a strong connection to their history and culture while exploring new opportunities within the rapidly changing digital world.

Hereford, Texas is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas that is located in Midland County. The population was 2,719 at the 2010 census. Hereford is part of the Austin–Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlement in what is now Hereford was made by Captain James Fenton and his men who founded a post on October 16, 1836, about east of present-day Hereford. In 1840, Colonel John Crain established Fort Worth's first military post west of the Rio Grande River in what is now Midland County and named it Fort Fenton after Captain Fenton's post. In 1849, Hereford became an independent municipality when it seceded from Fort Worth to form its own government with a Mayor and Aldermen. It had a population of only 100 citizens but quickly grew to over 1,000 people due to increasing industry and trade within the community as well as births and deaths among its residents. In 1870, Hereford absorbed nearby Val Verde into its municipal limits; this annexation increased its population to 4,000 people by 1880). In 1907, Hereford City Council voted unanimously to annex neighboring Val Verde into their municipal boundaries; this annexation increased their population to 10,000 people by 1912). However, the city council decided not to annex Val Verde again until 1978 because they felt that it would be too costly (the annexed land was worth $27 million at that time). 2) Development: During World War II here developed some large munitions plants including Dow Chemical Company which built an armory on Garza Road in 1945 which continues today as Dow Corning Tower #1 (a 12th century courthouse also houses IMAX theater), several engineering firms such as Hughes Aircraft Co., Lockheed Martin Corp., Raytheon Co., Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUCC), North American Aviation Incorporated (NAAI), Bechtel Corporation (#2 plant since shuttered) etc... This resulted in many jobs for local residents during wartime if not employed directly by these companies themselves but also generated significant pollution from production sites adjacent to town center which still persists today

Hereford, Texas is a small town in north central Texas. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hereford County. The town of Hereford was founded by Europeans in 1864 as a small community on the Red River near present-day Webster City. A post office called Hereford was established in 1865, and the town became a county seat in 1907. The population grew steadily from its early years until it peaked at 3,822 in 1950, when it declined to 2,711. Since then, the population has fluctuated between 1,908 and 2,711 with an occasional high of 3,968 in 2010. Today, Hereford remains an agricultural center with modest retail sales except for some local sporting goods stores and a few restaurants that serve regional cuisine such as country ham or barbecue chicken sandwiches. There are also several churches and businesses located throughout the town including two banks and one lumberyard which remains active today despite dwindling business opportunities due to changing market conditions around here.
On May 6, 1881, a group of farmhands from Hereford, Texas founded the town of Hereford. The community was named in honor of George Washington Parish and was initially located on the east side of the Rio Grande. In 1916, Hereford became an annex to Dallas.
