The Navy has a long and proud history in Pearland, Texas. The city was founded by the United States Navy in 1898 as Camp Peary, and soon became home to the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and USS Galveston (LHD-10). In 1942,Pearland was renamed Naval Air Station Pearland after Rear Admiral John F. Kirby, Commander of the Third Fleet. NAS Pearland remained an important naval airbase until its closure in 1990. In 2007, NAS Pearland reopened as Joint Base Pearl Beach–Fort Worth with the installation of three new Naval Air Station Aircraft Hangar complexes. The hangars were designed to house Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jets, Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol planes, and Raytheon ARYAN AWACS weather satellites. As part of this project, NAS Pearland also renovated or refurbished six old barracks buildings into housing for the detachment of U.S Marine Corps Aviation Squadron VMA(C) 137 providing aerial refueling and other aviation services to coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today NAS Pearland is one of America's leading sea replenishment centers with access to more than 20 shipyards that offer variousrepair services for submarines, ships afloat or on land; including drydock & repair work; pontoons; barges; hovercrafts; tugboats; oilers & bulk carriers.; commercial fishing vessels.; Search & Rescue missions ashore or afloat when needed anywhere along America's coast from San Diego to Maine ; coastal defense activities such as mine clearance operations ; Shipbuilding support including fabrication yards for warships such as destroyers & cruisers ; Mine countermeasures training ; It also offers day care , job training programs , weddings/veterans reunions/festivals etc., making it a valuable resource for pearlanders every day!

Pearland is an unincorporated community in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,421 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The area now known as Pearland was first settled by Anglo-Canadian traders in the late 18th century and named after a small settlement in Nova Scotia that had been established on a bayou near present-day Pearland. In 1836, General Sam Houston purchased land east of present-day Pearland from the Kiowa and Comanche tribes for $1 million dollars. He renamed the area Houston County and moved his headquarters to Houston. The town gradually grew around this center until it reached its current size in the early 20th century. By 1930, Pearland included a primary school, two churches, a post office, two stores and about 100 homes. In 1938, local businessmen founded what would become Astros baseball franchise; they called their new townHoustonville after their old home county of Texas (Houston). After World War II ended with Japan's surrender and the end of hostilities in 1945, many Japanese Americans living in areas surrounding Tulsa were relocated to Pearland due to wartime hysteria into which many communities had fallen during the postwar period following America's entry into World War II. Many residents who remained became naturalized citizens or American citizens through various processes such as descent from Ulysses S Grant or marriage to American women under Japanese registry laws at that time. In 1957, when McKinney Independent School District merged with otherDistricts withinDallas County (including Dallas City Schools),the newly createdMcKinney IndependentSchoolDistrict incorporatedthe portionsofHoustonvilleacrossthe roadfromHomeschoolersInternationalSchool(now HSI)into its district boundaries; thus becoming one entity with its own independent school system., later also referred to as "Pearland Independent School District". This change eventually caused some controversy among Homeschoolers International School students because they wanted their school name changed back to "Houstonville" before being absorbed into McKinney ISD.; however parents prevailed over pupils' wishes., eventually leadingto HSI changing its name again to "Pearland High School" prior to rejoining McKinney ISD.. On November 3rd 2006 Hurricane Katrina made landfall on Louisiana making landfall near New Orleans eastern boundary just south of Lousiana State line between Plaquemines Parish & Jefferson Parish . As result much damage was done along Mississippi River delta including Pearlman Estates which lies directly impacted hardest by hurricane damage .. most people lost everything but some few got very lucky like my dad he found an insurance policy that covered all his losses .. even though he lost his house he still has his memories of friends and family members being there when he showed up at work tomorrow .. so it wasn't too bad really .... Aftermath: More than 120000 people were displaced mainly due to flooding acrossMississippiRiver Delta (many went homeless). Most affected areas were Pearlman Estates where most homes were destroyed including my dad's house which heFindedAnInsurancePolicyThatCoverAllHisLosses .... even though HE Lost HIS HOUSE HEstill HAS HIS MEMORIES OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS BEING THERE WHEN HE SHOWED UP AT WORK TOMORROW !! So It wasn't too bad really

Pearland is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 26,848 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harris County. The community was founded by Captain John Fenton in 1836 on the site of what is now Pearland Mall. The first post office in Pearland opened in 1837. The town was named after Colonel James Pecan, who had purchased 2,000 acres (800 ha) of land near present-day Pearland from Antonio López de Santa Anna for $10 per acre. In 1839, Fenton donated 500 acres (200 ha) to the city and it became its permanent home. In 1865, General John Custer's cavalry unit made an unsuccessful attack against Mexican forces at San Jacinto River Bridge over the Trinity River near Pearland; as a result of this experience and others like it during the American Civil War, Texans began to distrust Mexican soldiers and leaders more than ever before. This trend continued into the early 20th century with increasing Anglo-Saxon migration to Texas and increased reports of graft and corruption among Mexicans living in Texas towns such as El Paso and Brownsville. This led to calls for secession from Mexico beginning in 1916 when President Woodrow Wilson issued his famous "Fourteen Points" speech calling for Ulysses S., Grant & Sherman's army to cross over into Mexico and liberate all its citizens from their tyrannical government In 1926, Mayor Harry Houdini leased a tract north of downtown from JB Reiley so that he could offer demonstrations without fear of arrest or legal action by local authorities; these demonstrations earned Houdini international notoriety as one of America's most celebrated public figures The first mall opened in 1960 on what would eventually become known as Southpark Center Drive NW adjacent to Dowdy Ferry Dam which provided water power for electric lights within the mall until 1978 when dam failure caused flooding which destroyed much property including SouthPark Center Drive NW In 1966 developers decided to build a new shopping center on Airport Road southeast of town instead because there was no other major shopping center within miles The original airport hangar still remains today insideSouthpark Center Drive NW
