Robinson, Texas is a city located in the rural U.S. state of Texas and has a population of over 100,000 people as of 2010. It was founded by Texans who came to the area during the American Revolution and became an important center for cotton production. The Navy's presence in Robinson began with World War II, when it leased land from the local municipality to build Camp Roberts Naval Air Station (later Naval Air Station Midland). The United States Navy operated there until 1974. In 1948, the Army moved its airfield from Fort Worth to Midland, which made Robinson one of only two naval air stations in Texas open to both armies at the same time. The other was NAS Corpus Christi. In 1970–1971, Camp Roberts was transferred back to the Navy and became Naval Air Station Robinson-Midland again. The last military use ofCamp Roberts ended in 1974 when all US military activity at Midland ended; instead, it became a civilian airport used by Boeing Co., Texaco Inc., and other companies until it closed in 1993 due to budget cuts by then-Governor Wharton . Naval Base Midland now houses NASA's Johnson Space Center as well as various offices for Houston-based Clear Channel Communications Incorporated (CCI). Robinson also hosts annual Armed Forces All Stars Festival that features country music and marching bands from many branches of service throughout the nation on Saturday nights around Memorial Day Weekend. The event is also home to numerous exhibits related to different aspects of military life including vehicles used by troops on deployment; uniforms worn by Marines during wartime deployments; photos and memorabilia related to Operation Neptune's Spear (the Korean War); USS Independence Museum; USS Constitution Museum; and more than 50 vendors exhibiting items relating to military history dating back centuries! The City Council passed a resolution recognizing July 4th as "National Military History Month" in 1984 following passage of Defense Authorization Bill H R 3483 which stated "the Department [of Defense] shall establish National Military History Month annually withinarguably practicable year." On July 4th 1987 City Council Resolution No.# 7381 declared "National Military History Day" within Municipal Jurisdiction & instituted program for celebration thereof thereby." On November 2nd 2009 City Council Resolution No.# 7882 proclaimed National Military History Month once again within Municipal Jurisdiction & established program for celebration thereof." Finally on October 9th 2013 Mayor Steve Adkins signed ordinance proclaiming October 9th 'National Military History month' once again within Municipal Jurisdiction

Robinson, Texas is a small town in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Robinson is located on FM 1960 about 20 miles (32 km) west of Austin and 50 miles (80 km) east of Dallas. The community was founded in 1881 by sugar planters as a smaller settlement on the edge of what is now Midland County. In 1907, it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 596. In 1953, Robinson became one of the first towns in Texas to be granted voting rights by the US federal government. In 1969, Robinson experienced its first tornado outbreak when two tornadoes struck within minutes of each other; both were rated EF-1 on the Fujita scale and killed three people and injured more than 100 others. On December 13th and 14th 1970, two more tornadoes touched down in neighboring communities near Midland - this time rated EF-3 on the Fujita scale - which left storm damage across much of central and eastern Midland County but no fatalities or injuries reported statewide. On July 1st 1984, after many years of planning by then-Mayor Donny Youngblood, who also served as namesake for Robinson's city hall building that still stands today (and still functions as municipal services center), Robinson hosted its first ever rodeo event - an open-air bullseye competition - which went well beyond expectations despite some initial concerns over how such an undertaking would be received by spectators who had never seen anything like it before. That same year saw another significant development when voters passed a resolution recognizing African American History Month and authorizing city officials to sponsor cultural events throughout that month only if those events were designed "to promote positive relations between races" rather than being exclusively celebrations or protests against white supremacy or discrimination.* This authorized Mayor Youngblood to put together regular $10 night concerts at local venues featuring local artists from all walks of life during October/November called Black Art Night*, which quickly became one majorstay on our summer calendar presence(*). Since then there have been numerous accomplishments for our town including: becoming home to the Texas State Fairgrounds where annually we host world class livestock exhibitions; hosting several large sporting events including state championships in football and wrestling; hosting annual family fun day weekend activities during Memorial Day weekend; becoming home base for several professional teams including The Lone Star Rodeo Cowboys* (*); being designated as one of Texarkana's "heritage towns" designation (based upon unique architecture/historic significance); Hosting multiple international trade shows throughout the year; land acquisition has led to new businesses opening up adjacent to our downtown district(*); currently housing over 100 citizens inside what once was only intendenly their single municipally owned apartment complex(*).

Robinson County was organized on November 15, 1836, when it was split from Bowie County. The county seat was Wichita Falls. Robinson County is named for General John Robinson, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as a U.S. Congressman from Texas. The county was established due to theodus of many Texans to Kansas during the 1850s and 1860s, which caused a large population loss in what is now Robinson County. The first permanent settlers in present-day Robinson County were four men from Wichita Falls: John Waddell, James Alexander, William Aiken, and Andrew Smith. They arrived in October 1836 and started out building homes at what is now the corner of US 287 and FM 2388 North. This area became known as "Robinson's Prairie". In September 1840, five families moved into what became present-day Archer City from near Wichita Falls: John Hoggatt (from Canada), Zebulon Baird (from Missouri), George Fenton (from Kentucky), Isaac Chappell (from Virginia), and Abraham Chapman (of Massachusetts). In December 1840 they laid out a town called "Archer City" on the banks of the Arkansas River where it stands to this day. The first courthouse in Archer City was built by Jno. Hoggatt on July 1, 1841; it burned down soon after but was rebuilt with new materials and renamed Courthouse Square in honor of Governor Elisha Kizer Allen his friend and predecessor in office at that time as sheriff of Dallas County Varnum Garrison had just become governor after serving two terms as Mexico’s representative to Congress under Polk mandate before being elected governor on election night November 3rd 1839 having defeated Sam Houston 624 votes to 208 popular vote defeating territorial delegate James Mclntyre 548 ballots cast including 149 unabsentees all told There were also 1/2 dozen men who voted but their names are not given here because they did not have proper rolls or if they did not vote then their absence does not affect the outcome
Robinson was founded in 1879 by John Robinson and his wife, Elizabeth. The town served as a center for cattle and cotton production until the late 1800s. In the early 1900s, Robinson became a key hub for oil exploration in Texas. It played an important role in the development of the Texas oil industry and also saw growth in other industries such as agriculture and manufacturing. The population of Robinson reached its peak around 1940 before slowly declining over the next few decades. Today, it remains a small town with limited economic activity.
