Roma, Texas is a town located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Austin, Texas. It began as a small farming community in 1845 and became an integral part of the larger city of Austin. The coffee industry played a significant role in Roma's growth and development and continues to play an important role in its economy today. The first coffee beans were grown on the property that now includes Roma University. The beans were roasted by Antonio Guerrero and his father-in-law, José de la Rosa, at their Porras Coffee House on Guadalupe Street near Trinity College. In 1862, Mexico gained independence from Spain and espresso beans started being exported to Mexico City for distribution there. In 1916, Roma was designated as the capital of the newly created Mexican state of Puebla; this gave rise to new interests within the coffee industry in Roma. The first café on University Avenue opened in 1916 under the name Café Puebla y los Americanos (Café Puebla and Americans). The name change came about because of Spanish colonial laws which limited how many different names could be given to businesses within one city limits. In 1920, Antonio Guerrero sold his company to French businessman Jules Lefebvre; Lefebvre renamed it "L’Opinel" after his favorite pet rabbit (the Opinel symbolizes vigilance). This led to increased coffee production across much of Mexico; however, little bit was exported back into Europe until World War II when espresso production increased significantly due to Allied bombing raids on Italy—this led Germany to acquire large quantities of Rome's coffee surplus for its own war effort. By 1951, all but two out of America's sixty-six largest caffeine companies had been founded within fifty miles or so of each other – this included Starbucks outside Seattle! However, despite European cafes becoming more widespread throughout North America during this time period (particularly with trips taken by students), most Americans continued drinking their morning caffeinated java at home – even while Europeans got caught up in continental breakfast trends like croissants and waffles! In 1951, Angelo's Coffee House opened and became the original Roma Coffee Company. That business closed in 1984, but reopened as Roma Coffee & Tea Shop in 1992. In 2001, the business moved to its current location on FM 1960 W at Loop 410.

It is located in Waller County and part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The Roma community services were founded by Italian immigrants in 1915 when they moved from San Francisco to this area to work on the railroad. The community grew rapidly and soon had its own school, grocery store, barbershop, bank, and other businesses. In 1948, Roma voted to become an incorporated municipality and has since kept up its traditions of hard work and dedication to community service. Today, Roma is a cultural center for all of Waller County with multiple arts programs, language classes for local kids, a library system with over fifty books/e-books/movies/, public works department including streetlights/pavements/sidewalks/lighting), and more than forty recreational facilities such as golf courses (two are open to the general public), tennis courts (two are open to the general public), pool (three different sizes), park (including a playground and two soccer fields), basketball court(s)and more. They discovered various regions that had rich soils that could support crops such as cacao and vanilla pods (now known as chocolate). The Dutch traders decided which areas should become their plantations and began buying up land throughout Africa. Coffee soon replaced cocoa as a major crop on these plantations, giving rise to what is now known as African Coffee Culture due to its significant role in developing modernAfrica overall.
