The Marine Corps Deployed Gifts program has been in place since the early 1960s. It is a unique and heartfelt tradition within the Marine Corps that helps to ensure that military members and their families have access to gifts that speak to their service and sacrifice. The program was initiated by Commandant of Marines Joseph L. Biden as part of his effort to show appreciation for the heroism and service of our Marines. The first gift was an American flagpole from Florida which served as a memorial to fallen Marines from both World Wars I and II. Since then, deploys have given back with various types of gift including Funko POP! Figures, T-Shirts, hats, books, etc. A key benefit of this Program is that it provides an opportunity for impacted family members or friends to interact with their loved ones who are serving in the Marine Corps. This interaction often leads to emotional support and provides opportunities for socializing outside of the normal workplace channels. By giving back through the Deployed Gifts program, we hope to help make a positive impact on those who serve our country in uniform
The Marine Corps is a veteran organization with over 660,000 members. The Marines have served in various wars and conflicts, both during World War II and the present day. They are an able and reliable force which can be relied on to protect our country from harm. The Marines have a long history of giving back to their community. In 1993, the Marines established the marines relief effort in Haiti following the devastating earthquake there. Since then they’ve donated money and resources to numerous causes such as hurricane relief, literacy programs, and disaster relief. One of the most recent donations made by the Marine Corps was for a deployment gift to help deployed military spouses adjust to civilian life. This gift was thoughtfully designed with input from military spouses themselves as well asDeployed Forces Advisory Council (DFAC) representatives from each service branch. The gift consists of items such as clothing, accessories, books, toys and more that can help them become adjusted to civilian life while away from their loved ones. This gesture is not only thoughtful but it also shows how much care the Marine Corps takes when it comes to its members’ well-being both homefront and abroad. By making these donations not just local but global, we support marine troops wherever they may be fighting or serving – whether that be in Afghanistan or Kuwait right now!

San Benito is a small town in southern Texas that was founded by Spanish settlers in 1836. The town is located on the San Antonio River and has a population of around 1,500 people. The town is known for its wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. San Benito also has a large history museum which hosts displays about local culture and history.
The Marine Corps has been deploying gift units for more than a century. The Corps was founded on the belief that every Marine should have the opportunity to serve his or her country with distinction. From small and personal items such as a Bible, pencils, and stationeries, to larger gifts like tanks or missiles, Marines have always had the opportunity to show their support for their fellow Marines. The Marine Gift History Project is an effort to document the history of marine gift units throughout history. The project began in 1984 and is archived at the Naval War College’s website. In addition to documents from earlier years, we are assembling photos and videos of marines gift units from around the world. We hope this project will help us better understand how marines have shown their support for one another over the centuries.

The town of San Benito, Texas was founded in 1827 by Texans who left the Mexican state of Coahuila and Chihuahua to find new land. The townsite had been surveyed by Captain James A. Hogg, a cattle rancher from Wichita County, Kansas. formalized the town's creation on February 14, 1827 with a meeting at the home of John Blythe. As part of its incorporation process, San Benito voted to create a school board and build a courthouse. In 1828, San Benito organized as an independent municipality with its own government and judges. It grew rapidly due to its location midway between Austin and Houston on the Brazos River – convenient for shipping goods and trade between those cities. By 1830, San Benito had over 100 residents and two churches: oneMethodist and one Catholic. In 1835, San Benito voted to become an incorporated city under the name of Austin when it became Mexico's newly declared capital City of Mexico City after becoming Republic of Texas in 1836. During the 1840s, during Texas' annexation into the United States (1846), SanBenitoadmited its efforts to gain federal recognition as an American city due to fears that Mexican immigrants would take over muchof what was now east-central Texas if they were not granted citizenship rights along with other western states that had joined America during this time period including Oklahoma Territory (soonOklahoma) and Arkansas Territory (which includes present day Arkansas). However, US Recognition was not given until 1850 when Congress passed Act 22 which created Washington County seat in east central TX although most people within our area continuedto call themselves "San Benitos". In 1861 after Confederate forces invaded TX we quicklyperformed military drills & parades throughout our community displaying flags & drums while many families threw their homes up against fencelines in orderto escape invaders During these years many young men enlisted & served in various units defending our state such as Company C First Texan Infantry Regiment
In 1836, San Benito was founded as a mission by Father Francisco Béjar and Brother José de Jesús. The town grew rapidly afterMission San Antonio de los Baños (San Antonio Mission) was established in 1836 on the same land. In 1840, the town had a population of 1,500 people. By 1850, it had grown to 5,000 people and by 1860 it had 10,000 people. The first school in San Benito was built in 1839. In 1861, the United States Military Academy at West Point began operations in San Benito and soon many American soldiers were stationed there. In 1865, during the Mexican-American War, General James Fenton attacked SanBenito with artillery from Fort Worth and killed more than 20 men and women. On July 3 1865 General Grant arrived at West Point to take over command of all Union forces in New Mexico Territory following the Battle of Monterrey. He ordered Major General Emory Mott to march on San Benito with his division to capture Spanish general Joaquín Zaragoza who was retreating through Texas into Mexico City. On October 12 1865 the Mexican garrison surrendered at Presidio del Rio Bravo near present day Del Rio after five days of heavy fighting including three full days of combat without food or water; this event is considered one of the greatest military defeats for Mexico ever occurred outside North America. After this victory Colonel Edwin Vail became commander-in-chief of Union forces in New Mexico Territory
