Seabrook is a small community in Vernon County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by John Seabrook in 1881 as a result of his discovery of oil in what is now Vernon County. In 1909, Seabrook sold the town to J.D. Sulgrave and Company for $10,000 and moved his family to their new home there. They named their new home "Seabrook Station" after their original find site on the Brazos River near present-day Wichita Falls. In 1940, the Sulgrave brothers sold Seabrook Station to Texaco for $2 million dollars; however, this did not mean that Seabrook had lost its importance within the community; on the contrary, it continued to be a popular tourist destination for locals and visitors alike because of its natural resources and history. Texaco announced plans in 1980 to close down its refinery in Vernon County due to low oil prices; however, they later reopened it but with smaller production than before because an investment has been made into upgrading its infrastructure. In 1983 Texaco donated much of its land adjacent to their old refinery property (now known as The Park)to Seabrook Township for use as a public park; this helped make Seabroook even more popular among residents and tourists alike who enjoyed visiting it during summertime when all of Texaco's employees were available for picnics outdoors!

Seabrook, Texas is a small town in Navarro County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. At one time it was one of the most important cotton plantations in Texas. The town was founded by planter John Seabrook and his wife Sarah on October 12, 1872 as a settlement on Sam Houston Parkway south of Uptown. In 1875 when Sam Houston became President of the United States and banned slavery in America, Seabrook's plantation ceased production and all its slaves were freed. In 1907, the name change to honor General George Washington Carver who had donated $1 million to build a school in San Francisco after being impressed by it there while visiting that city. A new high school was built in 1925 on land donated by Mrs. Carver with funds raised from her book sales and other events around that time which continues to be used today as First Lady High School Seabrook (FHL# 150005). In 1961Seabee Co., an American denim company started up hereabouts made blue jeans for Ford Motor Company's advertising campaign "We Made America". After years of decline due to changing fashion tastes (the blue jeans industry went through many changes during this time), manufacturing finally resumed at Seabee Co.'s plant hereabouts beginning in 1984 when they opened a second line - 501(a) fabric jeans; later also making Button Down shirt lines for Walmart etc.; but again with aluminum dyes now discontinued because of environmental concerns about their use still found near sites where these products were manufactured until recently! In recent years some homes have been rehabbed or newly built hereabouts including several luxury condos; making this community much more attractive than ever before for people looking for privacy and quality living outside of major cities/states!
