The history of the Seagoville Shotgun Club is a long and winding one. The club was founded in 1903, by J.C. Seagrave and W.F. Strothers, as the Seagrave Shotgun shooting society. In 1911, the Seagrave Shotgun Shooting Society merged with the Texas Rifle and Pistol Association to form the Texas Rifle and Pistol Protective Union (TRPPU). TRPPU changed its name to the Seagoville Shotgun Club in 1922, after moved from its original location on Pioneer Drive inSeagoville, Texas to their current location on Elm Street in town. The club has always been an active member-providing competitive shooters with shotguns for members to shoot at various shooting tournaments throughout the state ofTexas. On July 1st, 1954, Franklin D’Angelo became president of TRPPU and served until his death in 1957. During his presidency, TRPPU made many changes which have helped make shotgun shooting more popular throughout Texas than ever before. One such change was that they began offering shotgun lessons for all members at no cost! This program quickly became popular due to its simplicity and usefulness; it allowed new members to get started quickly while still providing a high level of competition for those who already had experience with firearms. Another major change during D’Angelo’s presidency was the establishment of a shotgun shootout championship series which would annually crown a statewide champion! This series soon became one of the most popular events on our calendar; it allowed members from all overthe stateofTexasto come together and compete against each other in an extremely competitive environment!

The museum was founded in 1984 by then-Mayor Donny Deeds and has since been operated as a nonprofit organization. Seagoville, Texas is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,992 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The name "Seagoville" comes from Spanish and means "shore of the sea". The Seagoville post office was established on May 30, 1894. The first postmaster was W.C. Bigham Jr.. In 1907 the Post Office decided to change its name to Seagoville in honor of General Ulysses S. Grant's visit to Hudspeth County that year. At that time Seagoville had a population of only ninety-eight residents and it took until 1912 for the population to reach one thousand residents again! In 1916 Seagoville became an independent municipality when it joined Medina County and then Hudspeth County; however, it reverted back to Medina County status by 1959 when it became part of Austin city limits. During World War II SeagOVILLE played an extremely important role in production as a major munitions manufacturing center with over seventy factories built there including Singer Sewing Machine Factory (now known as Sam's Club), American Can Company, Grease Monkey Manufacturing Company and many more! In 1967 after nineteen years as Mayor John Herron served his last term SeAGOVILLE passed through annexation into Austin proper by vote of its citizens which happened on October 1st following much protest from some who felt their rights were violated during the annexation process! In 1984 Representative Vicente Martinez from Austin area won election as mayor becoming the first HispanicMayor in Texas history! He ledSegaVille through several redevelopment efforts such as creating new parks and trails system which has helped keep this community healthy ever since!
The Seagoville community was founded in the early 1800s when a group of Scottish settlers arrived in Texas. The town was named after Laird Seagrave, an Irishman who landed on the Texas coast in 1827. The Scots raised cattle and sheep in the area and built their first homes around 1838. In 1852, Seagrave donated land to the town for a public square. The townspeople began building houses and businesses around this square. By 1860, Seagovie had a population of 175 people. In 1865, a train station was built near the center of the town to serve as a connecting point for travelers going north or south from San Antonio. In 1870, J.P Morrison opened his business at the east end of Main Street and started selling ice cream and candy from his truck. By 1880, Morrison had developed a successful grocery store that became one of the most popular in Seagoville. In 1895, John A Macdonald bought Morrison's business and renamed it Macdonald's Grocery Store. Macdonald'sGroceryStore continued to operate until 1924 when it was sold to Piggly Wiggly Incorporated
