There is no doubt that the military has a long and proud history in Cedar City, Utah. The city was named for General George Armstrong Custer, who fought in the Mexican-American War and was awarded the Medal of Honor. The Cedar City Barracks were built in 1864 as part of an effort to keep troops stationed in the area. The barracks served as a training ground for local boys and men until World War I when they were turned into an armory. After World War I, the armory became known as the Army Ammunition Plant where ammunition was produced for both military and civilian use. In 1945, Cedar City became home to one of America's first air bases when it was leased from the United States Air Force. The air base served as a staging ground for numerous fighter jets during Operation Overlord. After World War II, Cedar City experienced growth which led to new development such as the Veterans Memorial Coliseum which opened in 1963. Today, there are many businesses located within walking distance of downtown Cedar City thanks to its location on I-15 close to major metropolitan areas.

A military deployed gift is a nice way to show your support for the troops. This could be anything from a new watch or book to a thank you note for doing their job well. It shows that you care about them and want them to come home safe and sound.

Cedar City is home to the Cedar City Army Depot, which has been providing military supplies and equipment to the community since 1916. The depot also operates the Cedar City Air National Guard Base, which provides air support to local communities.

Cedar City, Utah was founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers and has been a cultural and economic center for the area since that time. The town is located on the Cedar River, which forms the border between Cedar County, Utah and Davis County, Utah. It became a city in 1959 and is the county seat of Cedar County. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Cedar City were Mormon refugees from Nauvoo, Illinois. They arrived on July 12, 1847, and started building a log fortuitous enough to be at the mouth of the river they named after their leader—Cedar General George Hinkle—and his men had built two years earlier near modern day Nephi Junction. The fort lasted only six months before being destroyed by Indian raiders who burned everything within sight including the fort’s arsenal of cannons. In 1848, Brigham Young ordered all Mormons living east of Salt Lake Valley to move westward into what is now Davis County because he believed that this would make way for converts from California to join his church. This order caused much controversy as many people felt that they should be allowed to stay where they were while awaiting conversion or moving westwards themselves. In 1850–1851 an estimated 50-75 colonists moved into Cedar City from various parts of Iowa Territory but most did not remain long due to lack of food sources and hard times ahead. On October 3rd 1852 Brigham Young issued a proclamation ordering all Mormons across Missouri (the St Louis area) east of the Mississippi River must leave their homes or face destruction by mobs if they didn’t convert to Mormonism or face imprisonment or execution if they did so. Governor Claiborne Randall issued another proclamation forbidding any more polygamy within Missouri until such time as young men reached eighteen years old; however this order too was quickly ignored by many Mormons who felt it would only lead to more persecution outside their own borders if forced migration took place inside Missouri boundaries. On November 2nd Aaron Burr arrived at Sandy Bayou with 5 horses carrying 7000 pounds worth of goods including Latter Day Saint scriptures, gold plates and other artifacts looted from Society Hill Church in Philadelphia during an expedition led by Orson Hyde back in 1837 known as THE RAPIDS ALLIANCE . After spending several weeks exploring nearby Great Salt Lake he finally made his way northeastward towards Cache Valley on December 17th 1852 when he discovered reports via runners about possible hostilities between LDS militia units under command of Captain James Foyler & Lieutenant David Whitmer over control issues atCache Valley involving three individuals called John Blackwood alias Martin Harris alias Solomonaffected by claims made about plural marriage & cattle theft among other charges &Burr immediately notified Brigham Young who ordered Foyler not pursue Hostiles . Upon arriving at Cache Valley Burr found that no one was home except for some elderly residents who were cooking meals for themselves as well as four cows grazing on private land belonging to Major C Smith whose family had recently moved into Cache Valley fromOregon Trail emigrant staging ground West Fork Canyon situated just southwest of Cache Valley proper along route takenby later Mormon leaders David Whitmer & Lyman Beecher upon reachingCache Valley following Joseph Smith's final days spent ↑overlooking Mount Carmel ↑on December 17th ↑earlier today known as Logan Airport

Cedar City, Utah was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and his followers. The city is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in what is now Utah. Cedar City became a Mormon outpost after arriving from Iowa in 1847. The LDS Church's Fort Bridger was built here in 1849 to protect Mormons traveling between Nauvoo, Illinois, and Salt Lake City, Utah.
