In 1966, both wings were combined into one wing and were called the 9th Bomb Wing/4th Bomb Group. From 1967 through 1969, both wings were stationed at McGuire AFB before returning to Davis-Monthan AFB in 1970. Kaysville is a small town in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. Kaysville is part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first known settlers in what would become Kaysville were five families who arrived on May 27, 1847, during the Mexican–American War. The town was named after Major General George Armstrong Custer and his regiment of cavalry which attacked an Indian village near present-day Cedar City. On July 20, 1847, Brigham Young announced that Kaysville would be the site of a permanent settlement and on October 11th same year granted a deed to twelve families for 640 acres (2 km²). They were given two years to build roads and eight months to get started. In 1849 John Wetherbee donated land east of the current city limits for a new township as well as buildings and equipment needed for the community's first school. In 1850 Amos Sitton donated land west of the city limits for another township also called Kaysville but it never got off the ground due to disagreements over territory with Cedar City. The cornerstone for Kaysville's first courthouse was laid on November 10th, 1851 by President Brigham Young himself when he visited the area to inspect construction progress on Fort Bridger nearby. Finally completed in 1865 by local builders under guidance from LDS leader Lorenzo Snow, it became one of only four courthouse complexes in Utah built before statehood (the others being Provo's Capitol Hill Building and Ogden's Main Library). A post office was established at KaysVILLE on December 17th, 1850; mail service began operation February 14th1852 On January 26th 1861 Mormon pioneers Hyrum Smith and Emma Hale walked into Independence Wells Fargo Bank in Kearns Square south of downtown Salt Lake City with $1 million they had collected from oxen drives across central Utah Territory since April 1860s - this money would later be used to finance Joseph Smith Jr.'s wagon train trip from Nauvoo Illinois
