The first post office in Kaysville was established on July 3, 1881, by Wm. H. Brown and Rufus Doolittle. The present building was built in 1907 and is a five-story red brick structure with stone trim and dentils for its parapet. It has a belvedere with an octagon turret surmounted by an open balustrade and clock face from which hang large copper bells that are rung every day at 9 A.M., 12 P.M., and 4 P.M.. The original town site lay to the north of what is now downtown Kaysville on what is now State Route 128 east of Interstate 15 (now called US-15).
