Tactical coffee began as a small but passionate movement in North Ogden, Utah. The first coffee shop in the area, called The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, was opened in 1984 by two friends who were looking for a new place to drink their morning coffee. They quickly realized that there was much potential for coffee shops to serve tactical purposes - as meeting places for infantry battalions and other military units during operations, and also as hubs of information for soldiers on the battlefield. As the popularity of tactical coffee grew, so too did the demand for quality beans. Over time, many well-known roasters have joined forces with local companies to produce high-quality products. Among these += roasters are Lavazza, Peet's Coffee & Tea (now part of Starbucks), Odwalla Coffee Company (now known as Black Forest), Blue Bottle Coffee Company (now known as Stonehenge), Intelligentsia Coffee Company (formerly National Roastery), and Three Bridges Brewery (now known as Hutchinson Brewing). Today, Tactical Coffee has become an international phenomenon with branches located throughout various countries. Today's Tactical Coffee scene is very different from when it started - there are now more choices of beans and brewing methods available than ever before. North Ogden is bordered by Cedar City to the east and south, Emeryville to the west, West Valley City to the north and east, and Sandy to the south. The name "north" in English comes from "northwest". The first European settlers in what is now North Ogden were British subjects who came overland from Canada in 1847. They named their new land Bridger Land after prospectsor George Bridger who had explored this area for them. From 1849 until 1855 there were only two residents of North Ogden- one a resident of Springdale and one a resident of Grants Pass Junction on the Deseret River. In that year Brigham Young purchased all of present North Ogden Township from John Day for $1,000 which he donated to the churchwarden general presidency (later called The Quorum of Twelve Apostles). In 1895 Brigham Young organized what would become known as Section 8 of Cache Valley Ranch where he built his original home—later called Kimball House—and many other family homes acrossranch including those now located in Draper and Park City. Sections 8 began receiving homesteads starting with Edward Condon’s parcel dated July 1st 1894. By 1907 there were 111 units assigned within Sections 8 with 93% occupancy As more people moved into sections over time they needed new roads so a road was built directly west from Kimball House leading downslope to Sandy which served as main street until zoning changes made it necessary for a business district with more than one store frontage on Fourth Street between State Street and Main Avenue (now US Highway 84) making it possible for businesses such as Jarry's Meat Market & Fryer Company, Kwik-E-Mart Supermarket & Liquor Store, Pioneer Clothing Store & Shoe Department etc., while keeping most residential properties single story or smaller

North Ogden's elevation - above sea level - also factored into early church expansion decisions about which areas should be included within Nauvoo or Deseret because access to water supplies prohibited building churches there without assistance from outside suppliers such as Wernher von Braun’srocket company that had facilities at Mt Pleasant and Richfield Springs east of Provo Canyon (today’s Draper). In 1941 local businessman Fenton Christensen donated land north of Jordan Valley Boulevard on which BYU currently stands to be used as a sports stadium for football games against Logan University; construction began on December 5th that year and completed on October 14th, 1942 after six monthslong excavation including tunneling beneath Isreal Street just west of campus.. By 1969 BYU had moved all its coaching staff away from Salt Lake City due to concerns about traffic congestion around LDS Stadium across State Street however many players still attended games at Jordan Valley until 1997 when new stadium opening created problems for head coach Bronco Mendenhall who could only travel to those events out-of-state The city's economy has largely been driven by agriculture with some minor manufacturing contributions throughout recent history; today most significant contribution comes from electric vehicles production which accounts for nearly half all jobs generated within city limits
