Over time, many other cafes followed suit and Ogden became one of the leading coffee capitals of the world. In 1971, John D’Angelo founded La Caffeineita along with his brother-in-law Rufus King. La Caffeineita is considered to be one of the earliest espresso bars in Utah and it quickly gained popularity among local residents. Today, La Caffeineita remains an integral part of the community life in Ogden and its legacy continues to be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

The first coffee shop in Ogden, Utah opened in 1907. The business was operated by the Christensen family and their daughter, Fannie. In 1916, brothers Harry and John Christensen opened the first drive-in coffee stand in Ogden. This stand was located on South First Street. The Christensen's also operated a bakery in Ogden from 1925 to 1958. In 1951, the Christensen family sold their interest in the drive-in coffee stand to Harry Payne Jr., who reopened it as the Payton Coffee Shop. The Payne Coffee Shop remained open until 1984 when it closed due to financial difficulties. It is still standing today as a historical landmark near the intersection of Third and Church streets in Ogden. In 1957, Jens Jensen purchased the Payton Coffee Shop from Harry Payne Jr.. He reopened it as JJ's Java House which remains open today as one of Utah's oldest continuously operating java stores!
Ogden, Utah is a small town located in the Wasatch Mountains of southern Utah. The population was 7,554 at the 2000 census. Ogden is home to Brigham Young University-Idaho and its related research institutes and schools as well as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, one of the largest choir organizations in the world. Today's Ogden began as a cattle ranching community in 1878. A post office was established in 1879, and by 1888 it had grown to include a small town with five hotels and thirty-six businesses. By 1912, Ogden had more than two thousand residents and fifty-six school districts served by seventy-five teachers. In 1916, Brigham Young University (BYU) was established here with fifteen acres of land donated by Philip Yarborough. At first it offered only theological education; but soon BYU became an important center for education and political activism in Utah politics. The growth of BYU has been paralleled by that of other local institutions such as Southern Utah Community College (SUCC), which opened its doors in 1964; Weber State University (WSU), founded in 1933; LDS Business College (LDSBC), which opened its doors in 1961; Northern Arizona University (NUA), which joined DUHs campus system in 1984; Logan International Airport ("the airport"), now operated by Skywest Airlines; and Utah Valley Federal Credit Union—a full service credit union—opened its doors here on July 1, 1987. In 2002, Ogden was ranked 6th among United States cities for quality of life according to WalletHub's "Best Places To Live". This ranking followed years of environmental monitoring by The Green Left Foundation that found high levels of pollution from automobiles while also finding low levels of income or living conditions for most residents despite having some of America's poorest air quality rankings

Ogden, Utah is a city in and the county seat of Ogden County, Utah, United States. The population was 132,563 at the 2010 census. Ogden is home to Brigham Young University (BYU), one of America's largest private universities. The first permanent settler in what would become Ogden was James Irvine in 1847. By 1860, Ogden had a population of 350 people and nine stores. In 1862, Brigham Young organized the First Ward of LDS Church in Ogden and named it after himself. The first mayor of Ogden was George Willsbury and the first recorder was Simeon Hyrum Smith. In 1896, Mormon prophet Joseph Smith gave a sermon calling for Mormons to move from their homes east of Salt Lake City to what is now downtown OgDEN because they were being persecuted there by LDS Church members who wanted them out of sight. On April 6th that year, 128 Mormons traveled by wagon train from Nauvoo into eastern Utah under the direction of Smith to begin construction on what would become known as Temple Square near today's Main Street corner with South Temple Street. The temple would serve as an important center for Mormon worship until it burned down in 1868 during Joseph Smith's polygamous polygamy trials which ended with his martyrdom
Ogden was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and his followers as a Mormon outpost on the edge of Salt Lake City. It became an important military and political center during the Civil War, and served as headquarters for General Grant's Union Army during the war.
