In 1885, a post office was established in Kenmore and it continued to serve until 1959. In 1907, a school was built and it continues to be used today. In 1912, an electric streetcar system began service and it continued until 1964. The most recent addition to Kenmore is the Kenmor Hall Golf Course which opened in 2003 and includes 9 holes of golf with playability for all levels of players!

Kenmore is a town in Franklin County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,143 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma Metropolitan area. The first European to set foot in what is now Kenmore was Capt. John Jacob Astor on July 24, 1853 during his exploration of the region as part of his "Northwest Passage" journey from Russia to America. He and his men left goods and supplies for the people then living in Moses Lake (now part of Olympia) before continuing their way upriver to present day Winthrop Bay. They named their new settlement after George Washington who had visited them six years earlier while on his way back from France with some supplies and prisoners. After a year or so of development by Astor's men and local inhabitants, a post office was established at Kenmore on November 3, 1854 under the name of Moses Lake Post Office. By 1860 there were 10 residents in Kenmore, all related to one another through marriage or common ancestry. In 1871 an act became effective which changed the boundaries of Franklin County; Kenmore would become its easternmost county seat while neighboring Stevens City would become its westernmost county seat In 1881 an act becoming effective changed the boundaries again; this timeKenMORE would keep its easternmost county seat but Stevens City would be divided into two counties: King County (the east half) and Pierce County (the west half). In 1907 an act becoming effective changed yet again; this time KenMORE would be split into three counties: Franklin, Kitsap and Shelton Counties By 1959 there were only five residents remaining in town proper; however due to increasing population growth outside town limits housing developments began sprouting up throughout central and northwestern Franklin County including parts of Stevens City where KenMORE once sat

Kenmore was founded in 1795 by George Washington and his wife Martha. The town flourished during the 1800s as a manufacturing center for paper, hats, boots, and other items. In 1881, the city of Tacoma acquired Kenmore from the federal government. The city quickly began to improvekenmore's infrastructure and economy while also increasing its population to over 100,000 people by 1907. In 1949, the city annexed the neighboring village of Kennicott.
