However, they have not completely disappeared from our community- they are still present today in form of Unit 535-the Veteran's Memorial Company Airmen who provide guard service at two local military facilities. Today, the Menasha National Guardsmen play an important role in our community by providing security and protection to citizens and businesses across the town. They also provide law enforcement services and support to other municipal organizations such as the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Management which provides emergency response services in times of natural disasters or emergencies acrossMenasha County. In addition to their duties within our community- including providing guard service at two local military facilities- these men also maintain close relationships with their families back home in Menasha through serving in various capacities within Our Armed Forces or Corps Reserve unit stationed here locally (Unit 535).

Menasha, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Menasha County. The population was 6,581 at the 2010 census. Menasha is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha metropolitan area. The Town of Menasha was founded in 1836 by fur traders as a station on the Illinois Central Railroad. In 1843, it became one of fourteen towns to be established around Racine, Wisconsin on the new Racine & Chicago Railroad line; all were named for men who had led or contributed to development in that locality: Otis Chandler (1829-1892), George Stephenson (1775-1848), Daniel Webster (1797-1852), Solomon Northrup (died 1865), Wm. Fenton Chilton (1795-1871), and James Hickey (1800-1864). In 1867, Menasha's first post office opened; it was renamed for Maj.-Gen Edward Everett Mahlon, Jr., commander of United States forces in Mexico during the Mexican War and a contemporary of President Abraham Lincoln

After the war, many states set up their own militias to support their military needs. In 1861, Congress passed the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution which protects citizens from unreasonable search and seizure by the government. This amendment allowed for state militias to be raised for defense purposes. In 1920, President Warren G Harding signed an executive order creating the National Guard Bureau (NGB). The NGB was created as a result of efforts by President Woodrow Wilson to create a force that could protect America’s borders and ensure law and order during times of peace or crisis. Over time, however, the National Guard became more than just a service provider for local communities; it also functioned as a militia responsible for providing training and readiness for federal missions. In 1990, Congress renamed the NGB as the Army National Guard Bureau (ANG). Today, there are over 1 million men and women serving members of both state militias and national guard units across America. The ANG is composed of component commands that provide unique capabilities such as intelligence gathering and commando operations; air assault; border security; homeland security; ceremonial events management; civil engineering services; public affairs outreach through social media/information technology/outreach initiatives including AmeriCorps programs]; chemical protection / bomb disposal / counterintelligence activities – including liaison with local law enforcement agencies when necessary ]; financial assistance through grants program As one of its primary responsibilities, Army National Guard Bureau provides leadership development opportunities to senior enlisted leaders throughout all branches of our armed forces

Menasha is a town in Brown County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. Menasha was platted in 1847 by George and Sallie Menasha. It is named for the Menasha River which flows through it. In 1854, the town had a post office and two stores. By 1860, there were six stores and one hotel. In 1868, Menasha became a village and had a school and jail. In 1870-71, men built a dam on the Menasha River to power sawmills near town. The mill closed about 1930 but has been preserved as an historical site with exhibits about local history since then. In 1912-13, troops from Fort Snelling camped near Menasha while they built defenses against Sioux attacks along the Minnesota border. After that war ended, many of the soldiers moved back into Menasha where they started businesses such as grocery stores and lumberyards. Many of these businesses still operate today including The Gristmill Museum which opened in 1978 adjacent to the old mill complex where most of the town's early growth occurred
