Pewaukee, Wisconsin has a rich coffee history dating back to the 1800s. The area was first populated by indigenous peoples and early settlers brought over large amounts of Java, Mexican, and Italian coffee beans. The first commercial kitchen opened in 1876 in what is now the Pewaukee Coffee Company building. The company operated out of three locations before moving to its current location in 1907. In 1916, the Pewaukee Coffee Cooperative was founded and continues to operate today.
Pewaukee is a town in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 19,878 at the 2010 census. It is the second-smallest town in Milwaukee County and the smallest municipality by land area. The name "Pewaukee" came from a word meaning "washboard peninsula" on the Fox River. The first settlers of Pewaukee were German immigrants who arrived in 1836. They named their new settlement after their patron saint, Saint John the Evangelist. In 1846, a post office was established in Pewaukee and it remained open until 1957. At that time, Pewaukee incorporated as a village and experienced rapid growth during World War II when it became an industrial center for munitions production. However, since then median household income has declined while the number of residents has increased slightly due to subdivision within the town limits. Today, much of what once made up Pewaukee's economy have been replaced by services such as education and health care which have had an impact on its population size but not its economy or culture. One unique aspect of life in this small community is that most children learn to swim at home before going to school; this allows for good swimming opportunities year-round without having to worry about getting lost in larger body of water like other towns do

Pewaukee is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in the Iron County region. The population was 3,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha metropolitan area. The first people to live in Pewaukee were those who moved from Racine in 1841 and 1842 after being expelled from their Native American tribe for practicing Christianity. The town was named for John Pew (1771-1844), an early settler who purchased land around what is now downtown Pewaukee from Jonas Heckelmann in 1845. In 1855, a post office called Pewaukee was established, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1905, the Fox River Bridge over the Fox River was built across the river near where it intersects with 8th Avenue today. This bridge became known as "the golden age of bridges" because it allowed easy access to shopping and other amenities on one side while leaving traffic on the other side free for shipping and commerce on Illinois's Upper Mississippi River trade route. When Interstate 94 enteredWI into service in 1990, the old bridge became ineligible for use due to its age as well as Congestion Control Program restrictions placed upon I-94 during that decade by then- Governors George Ryan and Tommy Thompson; however, local residents lobbied hard to have it rehabilitated so that it could once again be used as a crossing point between WI freeways and Milwaukee neighborhoods west of I-94 (now known as Mayfield Road). The $92 million rehabilitation project started in 1993 included adding new spans over both sides of the river and reconstructed much of original infrastructure including: two main spans overanchored together at 30 feet (9 m) below ground level; three approach ramps/overpasses/interchanges; a new pedestrian mall with retail stores along 5th Street; four twin tunnels under 5th Street which connected two original deep ravines created when I-94 was constructed; five “segments” each measuring 17 feet (5 m) wide x 6 feet 2 inches (1,800 mm × 1,500 mm) high x 350 feet (110 m) long – making this one of largest single public works projects ever undertaken within WI limits – resulted in increased traffic congestion but also saw development along 5th Street including several prestigious properties such as Kohl’s department store which relocated from Menomonee Falls just north of downtown Milwaukee after purchasing land adjacent to 5th Street.. On July 15th 2017 through effort by many locals & friends we successfully opposed plans by MnDOT to widen 4 lanes thru our community & replace an existing bike lane w/upgrade capacity! The town of Pewaukee, Wisconsin was founded on May 20, 1837 by James H. Dearborn and his wife Eliza Dearborn. The Dearborns were the first Europeans to settle in the area and the town was named for them. The original plat of the town was filed on October 7, 1837. The town was incorporated on January 14, 1840. In 1854, a schoolhouse and four barns were built in the community. On November 15, 1860, a post office was established in the community and remained in operation until it closed on December 12, 1960. In 1892, Pewaukee had a population of 507 people. The population decreased to 342 people by 1910 but increased to 535 people by 1920.
