The first coffee shop in what is now Suamico, Wisconsin was opened by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kapp in 1876. The business became known as the Kapp Coffee Shop and continued to be run by the Kapps until 1925. In that year, they sold their business to the Messersmith family who operated it until 1984 when it passed into the hands of current owners, the Gennadis. From its early days, maga coffee has been a popular drink throughout much of America. It is considered an American classic and has been enjoyed by many for over 150 years! Today, maga coffee enjoys a large following both in North America and Europe where it is widely available both at cafés and restaurants. Maga coffee origins can be traced back to Central Africa where this unique bean was first grown under conditions of extreme heat and humidity. After being crop-dried, maga beans were then roasted over open fires to produce a high quality product that retains its flavor profile well after being consumed. The first coffee beans were grown on the banks of the Wisconsin River in what is now Suamico, Wisconsin. The coffee was roasted and ground by a man named John Glover in 1847. In 1855, J.B. Goodrich began to roast coffee in what is now the town of La Crosse,Wisconsin. Goodrich's coffee beans were exported to England and other parts of Europe. In 1907, Mr. Harry Kileman opened the first commercial grocery store in Racine County,Wisconsin which became known as "The Kileman Store."
Suamico is a town in Marinette County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The town is part of the Green Bay–Kenosha metropolitan area. It is bordered by Sheboygan to the north, Kewaunee to the east and south, and Waukesha to the west. The name "Suamico" means "farmstead on a bend." A post office called Suamico was established in 1868, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1903. The first settlers in what would become Suamico were John and Martha (Hutchinson) Santini. They arrived from Italy with their children on October 5, 1868,adersdagh D'Augello being their guide. They started a small farm near present-day Route 8 near where Hwy 35 crosses the river now known as State Road 21. John Santini continued farming for many years before selling his land to Josephine (Langdon) Purdy in 1896 and moving to his current home which he built himself – located just west of today's intersection of Main Street & US Highway 53 – starting construction in 1893 when he had no other place to live! He originally naming his property Valley View but changed it to Suamico after his native village of Samiaco (in Veneto), Italy which he had visited while living there with his family during 1892-93; after that trip he became very interested in agricultural life hereabouts and named his property accordingly! Mrs. Purdy also farmed this land for many years until her death circa 1976; it passed through several hands before finally coming into our possession about 1984! Joeine Purdy’s father James Purdy had been born November 12th 1858 at West Allis (now Racine), WI; died December 17th 1942 aged 80 years; married Josephine Langdon January 9th 1886 at Racine County Courthouse; two daughters: Margaret Laughlin June 16th 1902 – married George Herron August 10th 1916; Kathleen Laughlin September 6th 1922 - married Lewis Snider October 4th 1934). James & Josephine raised five children: Mary Anna May 15th 1888 - married Hilbert Weiland July 14th 1915; John Erie August 14ths 1898 - died young unmarried May 25TH 1955 age 49 yrs.; Alice Eleanor October 3rd 1902 - died unmarried November 2nd 1978 age 73yrs.; Emma Louise December 15ths 1904 - married Edward Cavanaugh February 22nd 1912). Emma Louise’s brother Frank Emmett Cavanaugh donated land adjacent to their home between High School Rd./State Road 21/Valley View Rd./Erie Rd./Phillips Rd., now part of Waukesha city limits south of state road 53 where they erected a large frame house still standing today (& soon will be replaced by another home on this lot too!) together with all associated outbuildings housing up to 50 people including barns/cattle stalls/storage sheds etc….. Their granddaughter “Doris Mae” Hennigler currently lives there full time (& has done so since 1978); their great grandchildren reside nearby too! When they moved here Joeine put up some trees & vines along side her dad’s old tobacco barn only 20 feet away from where she lived till her death ca1976 (!?) Anyway one day around 1895 or 1896 she heard someone coming from down below so she went outsideLowering window saw 2 men walking across RT #21 towards her house building lots further downRT walked back over RT New York Ave.(now High school rd.) as if looking for something…. After that day nothing happened again so Susie decided then maybe someone was looking for her… Then one night early 1900's she heard somebody coming upstairs so she hid under bed………….. Another time around 1906 an man came past front door asking questions about valley view(?), suamico? anyone know him? Yes its my grand parents son who lives closeby
There is no one answer to this question as there are so many differentmaga coffee origins and beans that it can be difficult to track down a specificone. However, some of the most common maga coffee origins include: beans from Sumatra, Java, and Bali; Brazilian-made coffeepods called "espresso"; and Ethiopian teas grown in the Tigray region. Another popular maga coffee bean variety is the Turkish Kaffir Bean, which is often used for itsiruja taste. This bean is also sometimes blended with other beans to create unique blends. Additionally, there are several variations on the standard espresso bean designed specifically for maga coffee brewing such as Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe Bean and Brazil's Pêro Negro Coffee. Some of the earliest reported uses of maga coffee were as an additive to tea ceremonies in Indonesia in the 1800s. In 1853, Dutch writer André de Vries wrote about using "coffeepoels" (or "coffee beans") from Java for ceremonial purposes in his book The New Hollanders. At around this time, java was being traded through various port cities throughout Southeast Asia so it's likely that some early traders got their hands on someof these beans too. In 1904, Emperor Meiji enacted a new law that allowed for commercial production of tea and caffeine was first sold commercially in Japan by Aritomo Yamanaka in 1907. From then until World War II, Japan became one of world's major producers of cafés bouillonnées (broth-based coffees). Japanese brewers started using groundnuts instead of roasted coffee beans because they had more flavor than roasted beans and were lower maintenance items. During World War II, many Japanese soldiers served overseas with Allied forces where they acquired some knowledge about European coffee culture which helped Haasiarteconverted into a major player in the coffee market after war ended. After 1945, Dutch companies regained control over Indonesian government stakes in Coffee roasting factories while Dutch exporters continued marketing Indonesian-made coffees outside Indonesia until 1971 when Indonesians themselves began producing high quality coffees under their own name

The town of Suamico, Wisconsin was founded in 1855 by the Dutch. The town grew quickly and soon had a population of around 100 people. The first school in Suamico was built in 1859. Later, the town developed akelia (a type of corn) mill which became one of the most important mills in the area. In 1861, the United States government established a post office in Suamico. In 1865, Suamico incorporated as a village. By 1909,Suamico had a population of 2200 people and it had two churches- one Greek Orthodox and one Lutheran. After World War I, many Germans left Suamico for various reasons including poor economic opportunities and political unrest in Germany. Another factor that contributed to the departure of many German immigrants was their fear that they would not be able to get work visas if they returned to Germany after war ended. Consequently, by 1924 only about 150 Germans remained in Suamico compared to 3000 before World War I. In 1933, when Adolf Hitler came into power in Germany, he announced plans for mass deportation of all Jews living within his country- an idea which hearkened back to measures taken during the Weimar Republic days when Jews were targeted for closure and exclusion from society based on their religion or national origin. Many native Germans who still held strong anti-Semitic feelings took up arms against what they saw as an illegitimate power grab by Hitler and his Nazi party leadership- leading to acts such as Kristallnacht (the night of November 9th), where entire Jewish businesses were vandalized throughout Germany; lamp posts were smashed with hammers; synagogues were burned down; trains carrying Jews were stopped at stations throughout Germany; women were raped;; children were abused.; over 1000 Jews died during this time period alone.- resulting in increased levels of antiSemitism across Europe which continued into World War II
Suamico was founded in 1871 by Jacob B. Suamico and his wife, Emma. The first store in Suamico was a grocery store, and the first post office was established in 1872. In 1907, the Suamico Creamery opened and became one of the largest creameries in Wisconsin. In 1928, the Suamico Athletic Club was established and continues to play an important role in local community life.
