Center Point is a small town in Clarke County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2000 census. It is located on U.S. Route 441, about 8 miles northeast of Huntsville and 10 miles southwest of Decatur. Center Point is a bedroom community for Huntsville and surrounds it on three sides. The community began to form in the early 1900s when farmers who had land near Centre Point set up homes there. The first post office opened in 1908 and the first school was built in 1912. By 1925, Center Point had a store, movie theater and several churches. A large cotton field led to the growth of CenterPoint as a residential community during World War II because many businesses were needed to produce food for military forces stationed in the area. In the 1960s and 1970s, CenterPoint experienced some decline due to out-migration from rural areas into larger cities such as Huntsville and Birmingham. In recent years however, Central Alabama has seen an increase in its economy due to new development along US 441 that has lured people away from smaller towns like CenterPoint

CenterPoint, Alabama is a town in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. The population was 5,753 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile–Ft. Lauderdale–BWI metropolitan area. CenterPoint was founded on November 3, 1871 by Colonel John Hines and his brother-in-law Dr. George Washington Richardson as a community near the present day city of Mobile. The first store in Center Point was built by G W Smith and operated for one year before being destroyed by fire. In 1875, CentrePoint was renamed "Al bom" (The Point). In 1899 it became "Centerpoint". On December 10, 1957 Alabamians voted to secede from the Union and form their own country called "Alabama." CentrePoint remained an independent municipality until January 1, 1959 when it joined the new state of Alabama under its present name. On September 11th 1990 a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck central Alabama causing widespread destruction including much damage to CentrePoint which continued through the rest of that year's natural disasters; Hurricane Andrew had just passed through on October 25th 1990 so no major news came out from that particular disaster until after it occurred - this opened up many questions about how well CentrePoint had done during hurricane season in recent years when such events have been quite common due to climate change changes etc... In early 2002 there were plans underway to build a large shopping mall in what used to be Centre Point (now known as downtown Mobile) but these plans fell apart because of lack of funding and interest from developers; however some smaller developments have taken place around Centrepoint such as One Mile Square development which is located near I-10 exit 169A/US 231 southbound off US 31W between 10am-6pm daily weekdays and closed Sundays except for occasional special event days like Christmas or Easter; this Development company has also developed several apartment buildings around centre point with more than 100 units complete now with over $100M invested into them so far... The center point Mall redevelopment project seems dead but may still come back if someone finds money for it again Centrepoint is located about 15 miles southwest of downtown Mobile on UALR HWY 427 eastbound between 9am-5pm MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAYS WITH SOME SHOPPING OPEN FROM 12PM TO 6PM ON WEDNESDAYS THROUGH FRIDAYS ALSO SOME NEW ACTIVITIES LIKE A SALE OF STUFF FROM THE CENTER POINT STORE ON WEDNESDAYS thru SATURDAY AFTERNOON
