The history of artisan coffee in Wasilla, Alaska began with the first coffee beans being roasted on a small farm in 1907. The farm was owned by John Gifford and his wife Sarah. The Giffords were pioneers in the coffee industry and believed that quality beans could be obtained only from local growers. In 1929, the Giffords purchased a large plantation near Anchorage. They continued to grow their own beans until they sold their plantation in 1961. From then on, all of the beans that were roasted in Wasilla were sourced from nearby plantations. The most famous farmer who grew artisan coffee in Wasilla was Harry Haggerty. Haggerty was responsible for roasting over 100,000 pounds of good-quality beans per year and he is considered the father of artisan coffee production in Alaska. His farms are still located within walking distance of each other and you can still find his Coffee Bean Company stores throughout town today!

Coffee & Tea in San Francisco. The first thing you’ll notice about these cafes is their incredible attention to detail. Every cup of artisanship has been meticulously crafted with love. They might not have the same name as another famous cafe or may be located in a different town/city (four barrels!), but every single one of these places makes an amazing cup of coffee that you won’t find anywhere else. Each café offers its own unique flavor profile and atmosphere which results in a truly unique experience when visiting one. It can be tough to find something new to try each time you visit a shop – but don’t worry! These guys know how to craft great espresso like no other! The first espresso machine was made in 1876 in Rome, Italy. In 1897, Italian coffee entrepreneur Giovanni Petrini founded the Italian Coffee Company in Seattle and began selling espresso machines. He introduced the first commercial espresso machine to Seattle customers in 1898. The company became known as Petrini's Coffee House. In 1907, the company moved to Wasilla and continued to sell espresso machines until it closed its doors in 1963.

Wasilla is a small town located in the Municipality of Wasilla, Alaska. The population was 1,974 at the 2010 census. It is the only incorporated community in the Borough of Palmer. In 1906, Wrangell and Estero were combined to form the new municipality of Wasilla. The post office at Wrangell was moved to Wasilla on December 7, 1907. The first permanent residents of what is now Wasilla were Nome people who arrived from Siberia in 1875. They built a small village onshore near present-day Nassau Bay and named it after their homeland, Russia. By 1897, however, many Nome had died from tuberculosis or other illnesses brought over by Russian settlement and starvation during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05). Consequently, management of what would become Wasilla passed to local hunters and fishermen who called themselves "Nome". early settlers also intermarried with local natives In 1906 when Wrangell and Estero were combined to form the new municipality of Wasilla, Didier Duchatelet became its first mayoralty candidate and won election with over 60% of the vote. Duchatelet served as Mayor for two terms until his death in 1928. During his time as Mayor an ambitious street reclamation project began which has lasted up to this day - Today's Main Street ran parallel to Admiralty Highway through downtown Isabella before turning south towards Government House where it crossed Government Creek into Government Palace Yard before rejoining Admiralty Highway again just east of Fort Yukon Museum
In 1896, the city of Wasilla was founded on land that now makes up the eastern border of Anchorage. The area at that time was a remote outpost with few people and few resources. The town grew slowly but steadily over the next several decades, thanks in part to its location close to the sea and access to navigable waterways. In 1972, when Alaska became a state, Wasilla became one of its first cities.
