It is no secret that marine gift history in Apache Junction, Arizona stretches back to the 1800s. The town was founded in 1867 by Mormon settlers who arrived on horseback from California. The first store in town was established by J.D. Payne and his father-in-law, George Waddell, both of whom were previous merchants in San Francisco. It is interesting to note that this type of gift shop wasn't really started until after World War II when plastics became more available and began to replace traditional items such asautical tools and memorabilia from sailors/marine commanders/admirals/. It wasn't until after World War II that marine gifts truly took off within the local community with various businesses starting up to sell everything from miniature submarines (1948) to full sized amphibious tanks (1958). Unfortunately, many of these businesses went out of business or closed their doors during the economic recession which struck Apache Junction hard in 2001-2002. However, since then there has been a resurgence with several new businesses opening up including USS Fort Huachuca Museum (2009), Marines United donating surplus equipment to help restore navies around the world (2011), and finally Navy Pier Maritime Merchants Association giving away free maritime gifts each year at Sailfest! This growing industry should be nothing short of spectacular considering how much marines serve worldwide every day - not only aboard our own naval vessels but also on foreign soil!

Apache Junction is a small town in Apache County, Arizona. It is located on the Tanque Verde River and nestles between the mountains to the north and east, and the Salt River Republic to the south. The population was 1,354 at the 2010 census. The area that now makes up Apache Junction was first populated by Native Americans in what is now Phoenix. They were hunter-gatherers who lived near springs where they could irrigate their crops with water from nearby hills. In 1912, when John Wesley Powell discovered gold in Arizona, he recommended that miners attempt to find it because it would be an easier route than traveling through Mexico City. When California became a state in 1850, its government passed a law preventing citizens of other states from investing inArizona land without first having owned it for five years. This made mining difficult so Prescott businessman James Wickersham developed a rancho across the river from Tucson which he named Apache Junction after his Indian partner San Carlos de Acosta (1768-1846). When Wickersham died in 1881, his son Harry took over running the rancho and continued expanding it into what is now Apache Junction. After Harry’s death in 1906, his widow Julia ran it until her death in 1939; then she bequeathed it to her son Alvaro which continues to run it as an agricultural business today. In 1948 Navajo Indians who had been living amonglos Apaches came ashore and started ranchera here; this led to incorporation of Apache Junction as a city on October 10 of that year by Mayor George Hines with 100 residents registered as city officials including storekeepers Fenton Cheney ($50 per month) & Chas Sells $10 per month). In 1949 voters rejected proposition #4 calling for Measure A (an all-cash sales tax increase) which would have raised $5 million for schools and public services; however property taxes increased 2%. Proposition #5 called for an income tax increase which would have funded social programs such as education and welfare while also raising money for infrastructure projects such as new streetlights and electric power lines; however voters approved this measure 54% to 46%. Apostle Community College opened its doors on November 1st 1950 with twelve students taking classes at various locations: two buildings on State Route 191 just north of town – one belonging toNavajo Nation High School (later known as Northern Arizona University), while another building on Highway 8 about 2 miles east of town served Central Western Junior College until 1969 when those campuses merged into APCC In 1951 local newspapers began using editorials instead of articles headings when stories appeared; this practice continued until 1980s . On July 15th 1957 construction began on US 90W from US 90E passing through Apache Junction resulting in one of most significant changes ever made within town limits: development shifted away from river valley towards older industrial areas east of I-8P railroad tracks . By 1974 there were 350 businesses operating out of 265 total founded since 1947 . All but 25 survive today with some relocated or closed down due cultural reasons or changing economic conditions (see below).
