The first people to live in Camp Verde were the Hohokam and their descendants. The first post office in Camp Verde was established in 1902. Stagecoach Lines also served Camp Verde from 1903 until 1951. In 1907, Wm Fenton founded the First National Bank of Camp Verde with $5,000 capitalization. In 1923 Clyde Eaker became the bank's president and CEO. In 1951, campVerde withdrew from public banking but remains a member of the Prescott National Forest Financial System as an independent community financial institution that provides banking services to citizens within its own boundaries only). A post office called "Verde" was established at present-day Camp Verde on November 3, 1902 by Jno Boganus ( age 26 ). Mail carried between Phoenix and Tucson arrived at this post office until 1916 when it was moved to what is now Cottonwood Heights due to construction along Flagstaff Road east of town . therefore “Verde” no longer exists as an entity separate fromCampVerDE’s history. On February 2nd 1909 Charles Garvey organized a group of Cub Scouts into camp verdes Scouts which met for two weeks on Indian School Road behind Showboat Inn then continued south to White Sands Park where they built their own cabins there before coming back home on October 5th for three days; this meeting marked the beginning of camping at present day CampVerDe . The Cub Scouts developed program today known as Boy Scout Troop 133
