In 1974, when The Daily Kos began publishing an online column called "The K-Factor," El Mirage became one of the first communities in America to get involved in espresso roasting and coffee brewing. Today, El Mirage is home to some of the finest coffee beans in the country and it is also a center of excellence for craft brewing. One of the most significant factors behind El Mirage's rapidly growing café culture has been its proximity to four major coffee processing plants: Peet's Coffee & Tea, Starbucks Coffee Company, Roper Co., and Dutch Bros.' Roasters (now part of Dunkin' Donuts). These companies have all played a role in setting El Mirage on the global stage as a center for espresso roasting and coffee brewing. Today, there are more than twenty thousand registered users online at elmiragecoffee.com – including several hundred who sign up every day – making it one of America's leading caffeine destinations. This popularity is due not just to the quality of their beans but also to their welcoming environment and great customer service. There is no one definitive account of the first espresso machine in El Mirage. However, there are a few stories that suggest coffee was being brewed in the area as early as 1892. In 1916, entrepreneur George Fenton opened a small café called Cafe Ortega in what is now known as the Helms store district on East Indian School Road. He began serving coffee from a small pot on his premises and soon became well-known for his quality beans and delicious cup of Joe. In 1922, local grocer J.C. Rowe opened The Coffee House at 8031 North Eastern Avenue in what is now known as the Old Gresham shopping center. That same year, African American Harry Freeman started working at The Coffee House and soon became popular for his exceptionally good coffee. By 1942, The Coffee House had morphed into The Panther Social Club which served sandwiches and salads with house-made dressing until it closed its doors in 1978. In 1969, local businessman John Haggerty purchased an old brewery located near Interstate 10 east of town and converted it into El Mirage's first espresso shop/coffee roastery called 'The Shops'. This establishment would become well-known for its high-quality coffee products until it closed its doors in 2006. Today, El Mirage enjoys a vibrant cultural life with several restaurants and cafes available for customers to dine in or order their favorite beverages from various baristas who strive to provide top-notch customer service each day!

The casino became a popular tourist attraction and brought in a lot of money for Haviland. Today, the casinos provide jobs for many people in the town and continue to be a major source of revenue for El Mirage. The towns large hospital also provides services to residents in the area.

The first time coffee was brewed was in Sumer in 3000 BC. The first written record of coffee is from an ancient Egyptian text called The Book of the Dead which mentions 'the bitter drink that makes men happy'. In 1795 French scientist Denis Diderot developed a process for Brewing Coffee which led to the development of Cafeteria style Cafés such as Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. In 1912 American journalist John Burroughs wrote about his experiences travelling through French cafes where he observed how different kinds of coffees were served: “I discovered four kinds I had never before tasted; three roasted by the old method on fresh logs near Paris and one fresh-roasted with some thousand years experience in a coffeepot under the tuition of Pasha Selim II… All these coffees were excellent….It seems strange today when we realize how completely new this whole system must have seemed at that time” (Burroughs). Today's high quality espresso beans are sourced from farms throughout Italy and Ethiopia. They are then roasted to perfection using traditional methods including water infusion, roasting on low heat, and brief cool down periods before packaging or delivery to stores.

El Mirage, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. It was founded by the Hagedorn family in 1875. The town has a population of only around 100 people today and it honors its namesake with a variety of commemorative events and programs. The first settlers to El Mirage were Elias and Emilie Hagedorn. Elias had been born in Germany and emigrated to America when he was just nineteen years old. He settled down in Tucson,Arizona and started a farm that he named after himself, El Mirage. Emilie came over from Germany with her husband John Hagedorn and they started a farm too. They raised chickens, pigs, cows, horses, lambs, etc. In 1906 they built the first school in the area which still operates today as the El Mirage School District One building (3rd floor). In 1911 they added another house to their farm which served as their home until 1924 when they moved into their current home on Main Street which still stands today. The community experienced some hard times during World War II but through the efforts of local residents and volunteers it bounced back quickly after the war ended. After the war many new families moved into El Mirage from all over Arizona including California who brought their own type of agriculture with them- pumpkins! The community saw its heyday during the early 1960s when many businesses opened up including an auto dealership called Wernicke’s Motorsports fame which drew customers from all over Southern California! Today there are very few people living in El Mirage due to its small size but it does continue to celebrate its namesake event-the annual Pumpkin Festival! This fun filled event features bounce houses, face painting for children as well as local vendors selling pumpkin snacks and drinks!
El Mirage was founded in 1912 by Manuel Sanchez and James W. McNaught. The city was named after the Mirage River, which flows through it. As of the 2010 census, El Mirage had a population of 24,871. The city is located on the eastern outskirts of Phoenix and is bordered to the north by Glendale and to the east by Chandler
