Fountain Hills, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona. The population was 4,737 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, Fountain Hills had a total population of 5,827 people. The first settlers in what is now Fountain Hills were French Canadian miners who came to the area in 1864. In 1915, the local ranchers banded together to purchase 640 acres of land from Don Haggerty for $100 per acre. They named their new community after Fountain Hill in London, England which they saw as a symbol of progress and opportunity. By 1925, all but three buildings on the original 640-acre site had been erected and it was home to about 1,000 people. In 1970s developers built freeway systems near and through Fountain Hills making it difficult for residents to commute to work or stay close to family members and friends. However, over time residents have rallied around their community ideals and continue to grow businesses that support local economic growth while preserving some aspects of its rural character such as agriculture and outdoor recreation

Fountain Hills, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,561 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1907 as a farming village on the banks of the Gila River. By 1912 it had grown to include a flour mill and sawmill. In 1923 it became an incorporated town. The mill closed in 1948 and Fountain Hills became an agricultural community again until it lost its water supply in 1957 and ceased operations that year. In 1959, when Arizona State Route 10 was re-routed through the area, Fountain Hills changed its name to honor Drs. George Fenton and Clyde Ewing who were key players in creating that highway system. The Mill Pond resident Tom Nolan remembers coming home from school one day in 1961 to find his parents had built him a model farmhouse out of logs they found nearby - complete with haystack and barn! That same year he organized the first parade down Main Street in Fountain Hills which included floats made out of recycled materials from local businesses such as hardware stores and grocery stores! Nolan served as mayor from 1984-1988; during his term there were many changes including moving the fountain site from downtown to what is now known as First Avenue due to concerns about global warming hysteria being spread by then Governor Fife Symington II (D). He also spearheaded passage of legislation recognizing LGBT people statewide – something not even thought possible just five years earlier! He retired after three terms but remains active socially via various organizations including founding chairmanship for Scottsdale’s First Place Museum Foundation which restores historic buildings throughout Scottsdale/Phoenix areas – making them available for use by all kinds of organizations/groups interested in history or culture! Today he resides near Fountain Hills Village Hall where he continues to give generously both time & moneyither helping new & existing residents alike or hosting events open unto all ages

During World War I, the community played an important role in providing food for soldiers stationed in nearby Phoenix. After the war, Fountain Hills experienced rapid growth as a result of its new economic opportunities. In the 1960s, however, Fountain Hills began to experience significant issues with crime and violence. As a result of these problems, many people moved out of Fountain Hills over the next few decades.
