Fresh roasted coffee is a centuries-old tradition in the Paradise Valley area of Arizona. In fact, there are references to coffee beans being roasted fresh in the area as early as 1869. The first documented commercial roasting of coffee was at an above-ground level in 1912 by William and Catherine McCormick. The McCormicks were responsible for introducing Seattle's first Starbucks Coffee shop on West Main Street in 1916. However, it wasn't until 1971 that Starbucks first startedserving ground coffee from their own roasting facility located on North Central Avenue in Scottsdale. Since then, many other popular cafes and restaurants have also become involved with fresh roasted coffee - including Peet's Coffee & Tea Company, Harry & David's Coffee Shop, Benares Coffee House, The Java Junction Restaurant and Tavern, and Nasher's Cafeteria. Today, many people consider fresh roasted coffee one of the most important aspects of their morning caffeine fix.

Since the early 1800s, coffee beans have been grown in and around Paradise Valley. The first coffee house opened up in 1892, and the most recent café to open is called Ritual Coffee Roasters. In addition to coffee, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner items as well as pastries and bread baskets.
Paradise Valley, AZ is a small city located in the Cochise County area of Phoenix, Arizona. The population was estimated to be around 105,000 as of 2010. The town is located on the east side of the Salt River and is bounded by Pima County to the north, Apache County to the east, and Cochise County to the south. The first people who lived here were farmers who raised crops and hunted deer and other game. They built their homes near a water supply so they could cook their food over open fires. In 1875, Brigham Young came through Phoenix on his way to Nevada and found many Mormons living in what is now Paradise Valley. He decided that this place should be named after him because he had been given exclusive rights to Indian land in Wyoming. The railroad came through here in 1917 and soon there were businesses doing business in town including several banks, grocery stores, dry goods stores, a post office (established 1888), two churches (one founded 1876), two schools (one erected 1850), a hotel (founded 1912), and numerous residences. The population grew rapidly during World War II due to the war effort; however, it peaked at about 507 people in 1945 before slowly declining over the next few years. Today, there are only a few hundred residents remaining in town; most live outside of Phoenix or Tucson. Paradise Valley has some interesting features which include: an open-air museum displaying artifacts from pre-Columbian times up until present day; an amphitheater designed by Cedric Gibbons that can seat 3,500 people for events such as concerts or operas; nine miles of hiking trails%;[1] several golf courses including one within walking distance of downtown;[2]a large park with playgrounds for children as well as tennis courts,[3][4]and several restaurants including Starbucks Coffee.[5][6]

In 1870, a group of coffee entrepreneurs in North America founded the first coffee company. The beans were roasted and packaged by Italian immigrant Giovanni Benedetti.
The independent towns of Paradise Valley and Phoenix were both located in what is now the University of Arizona District. In 1887, the Territorial Legislature approved a bill creating a new county in southern Arizona. The name was changed to Maricopa County, and Paradise Valley became its first town. In 1912, the US Government leased land from the Agua Dulce Copper Mining Company for $1 million. This allowed for the construction of a dam which created Lake Havasu National Park. The townspeople erected a large park office and picnic area on top of the dam. They also built a series of homes around town to provide housing for employees of the mining company. The community continued to grow until World War II when it was destroyed by an air raid. After the war, many people moved into nearby Phoenix because there were no other options for resettlement during wartime shortages. A small number of people remain in Paradise Valley today as retirees or tourists who visit various historical sites within easy reach from their home communities.
The town of Paradise Valley was founded in 1907 by the McDowell brothers. The name is derived from the word "Paradise," which was given to the valley by Spanish explorer Pedro de Alvarado. The McDowell brothers were also responsible for building some of the first roads and infrastructure in what is now Arizona. In 1912, they opened a grocery store in what is now downtown Paradise Valley and soon became known as one of the most prosperous towns in Arizona.
