The Prescott Valley Air Force Base is one of the several former military installations in Arizona that have been converted into civilian airports. The base opened in 1941 and was used by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) until it was merged into the United States Air Force in 1947. The USAAF also operated a bomber squadron at the base from 1942 to 1945. From 1948 to 1951, Prescott Valley served as an air force training station for pilots and other personnel who would later serve in the USAF's bombing campaign during World War II. The USAF activated the 1st Bomb Wing at Prescott Valley on 12 January 1951, which was renamed 9th Bomb Wing on 15 October 1952. The 1st Bomb Wing became operational as part of Project Arrowhead, which was designed to nuclearize Mexican territory surrounding Phoenix to provide targets for flying American bombers. In 1957, Project Arrowhead ended with the successful launch of Operation Neptune's Spear, which aimed tosprinkle nuclear weapons over Mexico City. By 1960, all aircraft operations at Prescott Valley had been transferred to Sky Harbor Airport north of Phoenix thanks to progress made by then-Air Force Secretary James Estrin in support of federal efforts led by President John F Kennedy during his presidency. In 1990, General Accounting Office (GAO) found that "the facilities [at Sky Harbor] are not meeting current needs for supporting civil aviation." Consequently, on 17 July 1990, the US Congress passed legislation authorizing Prescot Valley AFB and its adjacent areas within 10 miles of Sky Harbor Airport be transferred from USDASF control to FAA control as part of a plan known as Airmen's Choice; this change would effect all major Arizona airports and would create a single command structure governing them all under one roof. At that point, Prescot Valley AFB had been inactive since February 1988 when it merged with Goodyear AFB’s 2d Tactical Airlift Wing following its closure due to budget cuts initiated under then-President George H W Bush Sr.'s administration). With Airmen's Choice came new responsibilities for both Wright-Patterson AFB/Fort Worth International Airport - home since 1959 of Davis–Monthan AFB/Phoenix Municipal Airport - andPrescott Valley AB; these included providing taxiways and ramps necessary for scheduled flights between those two terminals while also hosting non-scheduled traffic including overflights by Military Airlift Command units conducting joint exercises with Arizona State University (ASU). Since taking over responsibility for Prescot Valley AB on 17 July 1990--a date now celebrated annually as "Airmen's Choice Day"--the FAA has worked diligentlyto maintain nearly everything neededfor passenger service but has failedcompletelyto take careof airport infrastructure such as runwaysand taxiwaysneededforaircraft movementsand landings alike; moreoverforthis more than five yearssinceAirmen'sChoiceDaywasmade permanent lawrequiringtheinstallationofallnewailway appropraisalsofScheduledFlightsonly; furthermorethis lacounselndoesntincludePilotsnorAviation OfficialsfromDept OF Transportationwhohaveundertakenresponsibilityformaintainingarenationalairport

They can be given as a thank-you present, or used to celebrate any special event such as a victory or anniversary. 3) Present: If you feel like giving someone something special, why not consider giving them a gift that goes beyond just simple thanks? One option is buying them a gift certificate to one of the many local businesses that offer services within the USAF. The USAF also contributed several warships including USS Constitution (1801) and USS Maine (1860). In 1961,General Curtis LeMay donated an F-111A Superfortress fighter jet to be employed by Operation Thunderclap II in support ofOperation Neptune’s Spear, which was conducted during the Vietnam War. Prescott Valley, located in Apache County, Arizona, is a small town that has been around since the 1800s. The community was originally called Prescott after General John Prescott who fought in the Mexican-American War and later became the governor of Arizona. Prescott Valley is named after one of the most important figures in its history- William H. Prescott, an American academic and statesman who served as Ulysses S. Grant’s Secretary of State from 1881 to 1885 and 1886 to 1889. The first settlers to Prescott Valley were farmers and their families who arrived in the early 1800s. By 1875, there were only a few hundred people living in Prescott Valley. However, over time the community grew rapidly due to its location, economic opportunities, and friendly relationship with surrounding communities. In 1923, President Warren G Harding designated Prescott Valley as a National Historic Landmark for its unique landscape, history, and culture. Today, Prescott Valley remains an active community with many businesses and residents eager to keep it thriving. The town has seen some major changes over the years including population growth (from 1,000 in 1920 to 3,500 by 1990), development of nearby townships (such as Indian Wells and Hayden), increased traffic on local roads (due to recreational activities such as hunting or hiking), and increasing competition from larger metropolitan areas within Arizona. Despite these challenges – which have led to someProperty values dropping by 50% - locals continue to support their local economy through various means including tourism., business growth through light industry,,and agricultural production
