In 1984 USS Enterprise was decommissioned and sold to Japan who renamed her Yurei Maru (AO-3). She served as a commercial fishing vessel until January 1993 when she was seized by Japanese authorities after being found anchored off Honshu island without permission from United States authorities In 2001, NAS Whidbey Island re-opened as a repository for surplus military equipment used by both services between 1960-2001 including planes, ships and artillery pieces dating back to World War II. This allows visitors today to experience how military service operates on land with examples of weaponry from around the world Since General Nakashima’s visit in 1969 NAS Whidbey Island has been home to various training exercises conducted by both US Marine Corps units stationed here along with Japanese Coast Guard Unit “Kurei Maru” conducting joint patrols throughout October/November each year . These exercises provide opportunities not only for Marines ashore but also sailors onboard ship for basic infantry skills such as fire control systems demonstrators operating F2F aircraft or helicopter flight instruction; explosive Ordnance Disposal Mission Training; handgunnery demonstrations; air refueling; chemical warfare operations .....and much more

In 1942 the Navy transferred the airfield to the Army and it became Fort Sill Army Air Base. The base was renamed Fort Riley Army Airfield in 1947 after General George Custer who fought in World War I. The base housed fighter jets during the Cold War. The airport closed in 1993 and was replaced by an army post office.

Sedona's history dates back to 1864 when it was founded as a mining town by prospectors looking for silver and gold in what is now eastern Arizona. The first post office in Sedona opened in 1871. In 1904, the city of Sedona was incorporated and its name changed to honor President James K. Polk. On February 14, 1906, King Arthur television station KTAR-TV began operations from a temporary facility on the townsite of White Sands National Monument adjacent to the University of Phoenix campus before moving into its current location on Peoria Street in downtown Phoenix two years later. In 1969, president Richard Nixon made his only visit to Arizona while he was still president and spent three days at Coconino County Regional Airport near Tucson before traveling down I-10 towards Prescott where he would hold hearings related to Watergate investigations beginning that day at the state Capitol building there. By 1972 sedona had become an important cultural center due to increased tourism due to Operation Desert Storm which took place nearby throughout much of that year including during one week in May when all but one power plant outages were reported near Sedona Gorge where residents turned their generators on just so they could watch TV coverage from inside their homes The economy has grown greatly with most businesses being based off tourists or conventions which bring many thousands more people each year than ever before making it an extremely prosperous community with much growth potential yet little oversight given that it falls within one county despite having over 1 million people living within its borders
