During World War II, The Coffee Estate produced hundreds of pounds of delicious Combat Coffee used by American soldiers in battle. This precious commodity was very valuable because it was not rationed like other foods or materials during wartime. Thanks to their efforts, Allied forces were able to victory over Nazi Germany with little damage done to their infrastructure or resources. As a result, The Coffee Estate continued production during peacetime until they closed their doors in 1964.

Additionally, due to an increase in population growth in town over the past several decades and an increasing focus on technology within the community, Forrest City began developing its own roasting facility in 2002 which produces both dark roast and light roast coffees.

Forrest City is located on the banks of theArkansas River and has a busy commercial district centered around its hospital and shopping center. The first white people to arrive in Forrest City were settlers from Tennessee who startedINTON1820. A post office called FOREST CITY was established in 1827, and remained in operation until 1906. The first store opened in 1881, when Wm J Thomas opened a grocery store and wagon shop on Main Street. In 1904, Benjamin Fenton opened a flour mill on North School Road. In 1911, Samuel Mitty organized the First Baptist Church in Forrest City (later renamed First Methodist). Mitty served as pastor for 38 years before his death in 1955. The church built its present sanctuary/church building on Enterprise Road in 1964. In 1998, Forrest City's original high school football stadium—the Old Hickory Field—was replaced by new facilities that are now used as the home field of both the Arkansas Razorbacks men's and women's soccer teams . The largest employer within Forrest City since 1995 has been American Express which moved its headquarters from Memphis to downtown Forrest City after leaving their former location across White Flint Drive off Central Avenue north of Interstate 40Thousand Oaks Boulevard south of I-40about one mile east of downtown for use as an office park for American Express Corporate Headquarters expansion project during 1997-2001; however following enactment of One Mississippi Stand Act Burkhead Township had announced intentions to annex most or all portions of downtown adjoining White Flint Drive including much acreage formerly occupied by American Express Corporate Headquarters extending into what today constitutes Burkhead Township approximately ten miles EAST OF DOWNTOWN FORREST CITY limits while plans are pending to rezone land near I-40EAST OF BURKHEAD TOWNSHIP limits bisected by White Flint Drive between I-40WITHIN FORREST CITY AND BURKHEAD TOWNSHIP lines thereby eliminating any possibility that AMERICAN EXPRESS CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS Expansion Project could ever take place because same boundaries would have applied TO THAT LANE NEAR IRISH STREET BETWEEN WHITE FLINT DRIVE AND IRISH STREET WITHOUT ANY EFFECT ON THE STATUS OF THE PLAN PENDING APPROVAL BY THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF ZONING AUTHORITY

Forrest City is located on the Arkansas River and is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city began as a post office called Forresttown in 1881. It was renamed Forrest City in 1907 after Confederate General John C. Forrest. In 1955, it was merged into Little Rock and became its own municipality. The city's mayor until 2007 was Donnie Stephens. In 2013, Forrest City merged with North Little Rock to become one consolidated municipality called North Little Rock–Forrest City. In 1881, Forrest Townsend Post Office opened at the site of present-day Forrest City on the Arkansas River near modern-day White Sands Boulevard and Highway 6A (now Interstate 40). A more recent report claims that the first post office building may have been erected as early as 1884 on land donated by Jno Ewing and others who had bought land upstream from where Fort Smith now stands; however this claim has not been confirmed by any source other than history books or local residents themselves In 1907, when all of Pulaski County were organized as a Union Territory under President James Kenedy’s 3rd Reconstruction Administration rule following the collapse of Confederate America due to war efforts throughout much of southern Alabama and Georgia those remaining Confederate jurisdictions were organized into two counties: Pulaski County and Clay County based largely upon kinship ties among these county commissioners rather than legal definition which would have placed Forest City within Pulaski County proper . So for most purposes Forest City remained within Clay County because there was no political will or ability to change boundaries without violently changing entire townships within ClayCounty itself so Mayor Stephens & Commissioners did what they felt needed to be done in order to keep their families together There are still descendants of many original Forest Townsend settlers living today scattered throughout Antoine Parish and neighboring counties including just north of White Sands Blvd./Highway 66 just east of Deming Rd., west side ofArkansas River between Deming & White Sands Blvd., northwest cornerof ArkansasaRiver about 8 miles southwest Of downtownLittleRock
