The first coast guard gift was given to the Mountain Home post in 1926. It was a set of binoculars. The gift was from Captain W.B. Calloway and his wife, Mrs. Anna Calloway. In 1941, the Coast Guard gifted a full-sized lifeboat to the post. It had been donated by special interest group The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). In 1954, the Coast Guard gifted a new patrol boat to the mountain home post. It was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Aiken of Hot Springs, Arkansas In 1986, the Coast Guard gifted a new helicopter to the post with monetary donations from various individuals and groups in Arkansas including The Nature Conservancy and United Way of Arkansas Southwestern Division

Mountain Home is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway, AR Combined Statistical Area. Mountain Home was platted on November 12, 1887 by John C. Hudspeth and others as a station on the Arkansas Central Railroad. The community name derived from nearby Roanoke Mountain, which was visible from most of the town site. The first post office in Mountain Home opened in 1888. By 1890, there were six businesses in the community and it had a population of 350 people. In 1903, the railroad closed running through Mountain Home but continued to serve as an important transportation artery for local farmers and their goods until 1945 when it was abandoned entirely due to lack of revenue generated by passengers operating it. In 1948 construction began on what would become Mountain Home Elementary School; this building became operational that same year and remains its current incarnation today. The second school built in MountainHome- Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church- which served grades pre-K through 8th grade before being replaced in 2001 with First Baptist Church- MtnHome High School-. In 1979 fire destroyed both schools, leaving only Holy Cross Parish as a source of education for students within the community until after 2005 when First Baptist reopened as Highland Park Middle School following renovation/updating within its facilities which also included new classrooms/equipment/support staff available 24/7/. Today Highlands Academy serves grades 9th through 12th grade while Mount Holly Academy provides academic programs for kids aged 13 to 18 years old (grades 11th through 12th are now housed at Roanoke Valley Christian Academy).

Mountain Home is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2000 census. The first settlers in Mountain Home were the Coopers who moved from California in 1887. They built the first store and home on what is now West Main Street. The town was incorporated on April 4, 1889. The post office was opened on November 2, 1889. In 1912, Mountain Home became the county seat of Pulaski County after it was chosen over Little Rock by a referendum vote. In 1956, Mountain Home was named an All-American City by the American Planning Association because of its high quality of life and its role as a center for education and business opportunities. In 1969, the Arkansas General Assembly passed Act No. 6055 which renamed Pulaski County "Mountain Home" to honor the town's history and culture while still preserving its current form as a county with its own government structure and economy.

In 1960, Mountain Home became an incorporated city. Today, the city is home to about 10,000 people and is one of the largest cities in Little Rock County.
