The Searcy Coast Guard Station was established on July 1, 1903. It was originally called the Stroudsburg Coast Guard Station. The name changed to Searcy on September 7, 1907. The station was first staffed by three men and later four. On January 25, 1912, the station became a coaling pier and handled coal for the local port. In 1915, it became a lighthouse and in 1926 it became a radio transmission center. A new harbor was built in 1929 and the station assumed its present name on December 6 of that year. The Coast Guard Station has been manned by civilians since 1951 when they were transferred from other law enforcement agencies to serve as their own unit within the Coast Guard.
Searcy is a town in Warren County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Weldon City, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1881 Searcy had a population of 158 people and it consisted of 38 houses. In 1907 it had a population of 573 and included 95 buildings. The community disbanded in 1917 when its post office closed because of the World War I draft exemption for citizens of countries with which the US was at war. The first settler in Searcy was Isaac Kapp, who arrived in 1852 from Pennsylvania. He built his house on what is now Main Street near where he lived until his death in 1862. His son John Kapp also lived there for some time before moving to North Little Rock to start a farmstead there. A few years later George Henson moved into the area and began leasing land to settlers as well - this led to what would become known as Henson's Landing (now Searcy). John Pritchard came to Searcy in 1868 from Illinois with his family and cleared land that would become present-day downtown Searcy. He started a store on Main Street in 1869 which became one of the most important businesses in town during its early days. By 1870, much growth had occurred with several homes having been built on Peters Creek adjacent to Main Street; many more people were coming through town every day by train or wagon carrying goods manufactured elsewhere back home for sale or use locally; grain elevator/warehouses had been erected along Peters Creek Road; schools sprung up all over Arkansas Territory: Alexander Park School opened February 15th, 1870 (later renamed Clinton High School), Northwest Arkansas Female Seminary opened May 4th, 1870 (later renamed Arkadelphia Baptist College), and Willie Jackson Preschool opened September 9th, 1870 (now Will Rogers Middle School).

Searcy, Arkansas is a small town located in Union County, Arkansas. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Union County. The first settlers in Searcy were Levi and Nancy Searcy who arrived around 1800. They started a small farm and built a cabin on the banks of the White River. In 1809, they moved to what is now Searcy and started a store. The Earps built their home here in 1827. In 1847, they invited George Rogers Clark to visit them, and he Stayed for three weeks before leaving for Illinois with his forces to help win over Mexico's support against United States ambitions in that country. In 1865, General Nathan Bedford Forrest left Arkadelphia to march southward through Union County looking for Confederate soldiers under Andrew Johnson. He found no such troops but camped near Searcy where he stayed until March 8 when he marched back into Arkadelphia without stopping at any place other than local hotels where he took dinner with local officials before continuing on his journey eastward. After the Civil War ended, farmers began moving into this area from surrounding counties which had become much more developed due to gold discoveries in those counties during that time period. By 1890, there were only 100 residents living in Searcy; by 1910 it had grown to 1,521 people as a result of this growth and development within its borders
Founded in 1879 by abolitionist Tom Searcy, Searcy was one of the most important slaveholding counties in Arkansas. The county seat was at Fort Smith and it had a population of over 120,000 people in 1860. After the Civil War, many freedmen moved to Searcy County and it became one of the most black-majority counties in Arkansas.
