Springdale, Arkansas is home to the Air Force's 4th Fighter Wing. The wing was established in 1945 and during its more than 60 years of existence has provided air support for operations all over the world. Today, the wing flies nearly 350 missions a day providing airlift and air defense to allies and friends. One of the wing's most famous moments came in 1978 when it participated in Operation Desert Storm as part of Operation Neptune's Spear. During that conflict, the wing flew 1,500 miles across Iraq from Kuwait into Iraqi airspace to attack military installations there. The wing also played a major role during Operation Enduring Freedom by flying combat missions from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. That operation lasted six months and saw the squadron fly over 6,000 miles non-stop between bases in Ankara, Istanbul, Baghdad and hubs inside Afghanistan. The 4th Fighter Wing is one of only a handful of United States fighter Wings that have been awarded both World War II (1939-1945)and NATO Treaty Air Forces Commendation medals (the others being The 1st Tactical Fighter Squadron at Barksdale AFB (Delta), Louisiana; The 3rd Tactical Fighter Squadron at Seymour Johnson AFB (Nigeria), Andover AFB, Massachusetts; The 5th Tactical Bomber Wing at Elmendorf AFB (Alaska); and The 10th Tactical Airlift Wing at Tinker AFB (Oklahoma).) In addition to these distinctions, theWing has been presented with numerous other awards including two Distinguished Unit Citations/Two Presidential Unit Citations/Three Congressional Gold Medals/Four Bronze Stars/Five Air Medals/Sixteen Meritorious Achievement Awards

Springdale is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. Springdale is located on the Arkansas River and has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1 km²). The first Europeans to visit Springdale were French traders who landed there in 1681 and again in 1712. James Mosely founded the town on May 20, 1836, as part of his efforts to establish a post office east of Fayetteville. A post office called Springdale was established on October 15, 1836, by order of Governor James K. Polk. The name "Springdale" was derived from the Arkansas River which flows through it and its namesake spring; John Pemberton had named it that for him and his familys property near present-day Springdale Elementary School. In 1861 Union troops burned down most of the buildings in what is now Springdale because they considered them havens for Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. General Nathan Bedford Forrest ordered his men not to leave their camps until all Rebel forces had been destroyed or driven away westward across Arkansas Creek into Texas; Forrest did not want any Yankee General commanding over these troops going around looting civilians' homes while he remained hidden behind trees six miles east of Fort Smith at what became known as "Frosty Bottom". After Confederate forces surrendered at Appomattox Court House in 1865, muchof Pleasant Grove (now part of Springdale) reverted back to Confederate control due to its strategic location athwart Union lines within easy reach from both Memphis and Johnson City southward along I-40 and northward along US 71W towards Arkadelphia before finally coming under Union military occupation with little regard for civilian life or property rights remaining mostly unaffected throughout Reconstructionist times until after World War II when some Japs moved into Clarksville just outside town limits shortly after Pearl Harbor while other Japanese people started buying up lots near Stripes interchangeAdding insult to injury Pryor received an Order In Council directly from Roosevelt himself disapproving thereof ordering him immediately To discontinue such activity retroactive thereto inviting all citizens within 10 Miles thereof within 24 Hours thereto protest & have opportunity appear before said council privily While still residing therein & having full knowledge thereof this paper being written ty Ann Pryor

Springdale is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 5,141 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Pulaski, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. Springdale was founded in 1881 and incorporated as a city in 1907. The name "Springdale" comes from the spring near its original site. The first post office in Springdale was opened on March 10, 1881, by John Witherspoon. The original village of Springdale was laid out in 1881 by Jno. Hinton and company under license from the Arkansas General Assembly. In 1907, Springdale became an incorporated city and began to grow rapidly with new development such as an amusement park and a library/library system for citizens and schoolchildren alike. In 1932, World War II began with Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor; that year saw heavy bombings throughout Arkansas including some that struck Springdale where many homes were destroyed or damaged; 5 people were killed and over 50 injured when a bomb exploded in front of the Post Office on Main Street near West Ark Lake Road after hours of bombing during what is known as the Daylight Attack; along with other towns across Pulaski County it experienced significant damage from incendiary bombs dropped by Japanese planes during their campaign against America (the atomic bombing raids). After World War II ended there continued rapid growth with new housing developments being developed all around town including numerous shopping malls built throughout downtown which continue to be popular today due to their easy access to both employment opportunities and shopping options nearby while also contributing to Fallujah's clustering of malls within 1-2 mile radius making it one of Iraq's largest commercial areas still extant today despite repeated attacks against it by insurgents since 2003/2004 etc...
