The history of the Coast Guard in Springdale, Arkansas can be traced back to 1909. At that time, a group of men from Springdale decided they would want to get involved with the organization and started their own unit. It wasn't until 1940 that the Coast Guard actually began operating out of Springdale. The first commander of the Coast Guard in Springdale was Captain W. H. Hudgins. From then on, the unit grew and changed its name several times before finally becoming known as the Coast Guard District No. 3 in 1958. The current commander for District 3 is Lieutenant Commander Darryl Latham II. The Coast Guard has played an important role in keeping our community safe since World War II. In fact, it is estimated that over 170 people have been killed as a result of sea accidents or traffic violations while working for the agency (including 86 members of District 3). Additionally, more than $2 billion has been collected through fines and fees levied against individuals and ships associated with criminal activity on our coastlines throughout history! Despite these successes, there are still some areas where we need assistance from our friends at the Coast Guard- specifically when it comes to maritime law enforcement and fishery management! For example, both vessels working off our coast must comply with various regulations set forth by federal law- which can be difficult if not impossible without help from someone like the Coast Guardsman who patrols our waters day and night! And just recently, we had another tragic tragedy occur when two civilians were killed after a drunk sailor drowned while attempting to take them onto his vessel for transport home! These events underscore how important it is for us to work together as a team and make sure that everyone aboard any vessel has proper documentation before boarding!

On January 3, 1954 Mrs. Barton assumed command of USDOT's New York City Office which moved from Manhattan to Queens after it was transferred from Treasury Department control due to budget cuts within DHS caused by LBJ's "New Frontier" policies which aimed To modernize government by reducing its size and centralized control over American lives and businesses]. In 1956Mrs. Barton retired from public service but continued working as an advisor for DHS until her death in 1988]. In 1960 Lieutenant Commander Pamela Jonell became First Officer (First Class) with USS Ponce (LPD 21) when that ship was decommissioned and converted into a training vessel called USCGC Porter (GK-7). In 1969 Commodore Jeanne Couch becoming commanding officer (CDR) with USCGC Polar Star when that ship was decommissioned and converted into a training vessel called CG Polaris (DV-5). From 1984 through 1992 Commodore Denise Eakin served as Commanding Officer (CO) with USCGC Polar Star during which time that ship underwent modernization including installation of an Internet capability.]]
Springdale is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Central Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Springdale is located in the eastern edge of Pulaski County and it has a total area of just over square miles. The town was founded in 1881 when J.M. Pennington and his family bought 5 acres of land on the edge of what is now Springdale from John Whitmire. In 1902, they built the first school building in Springdale which still stands today. The first post office opened in 1903 and continued to operate until 1957. One of the most famous people who lived in Springdale was Orville Wright who designed and built his own airplane, the Wright brothers' Flyer I, here at home during their experiments with aviation dates back to 1911-12 while he was working for RCA Wireless Company as an aircraft mechanic/analyst." Springdale is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 25,812 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The current mayor is Rufus King. The city was founded in 1872 by John W. Pryor as a post office called "Springs". It became the town of Springdale in 1907 and the city of Springdale on July 1, 1912. On November 3, 1916, it merged with the neighboring town of Pine Bluff to form a new municipality known as Springdale-Pine Bluff. Springdale's rich history goes back to when it was first settled by pioneer settlers in 1872. John Pryor set out from Illinois with his family to find an area that would be open for settlement after the territorial government refused to give land east of Little Rock to white people because they were not considered citizens of Arkansas. They arrived at what is now Springdale on December 15, 1872 and named their new community springs after nearby water sources such as Creek and Gadsden Rivers which they found abundant and navigable due to rock formations dating back millions of years ago. In 1907, whenSpringdale merged with Pine Bluff, it was one of only two municipalities in Arkansas without its own fire department or police force – the other being White Sulphur Springs (now Hot Springs). In response to this situation Mayor Rufus King established municipal services within three weeks via Order No. 9–A dated January 27th 1907 which created "the Municipal Court Department" within City Hall and provided for property acquired from Pine Bluff on West Main Street between First Avenue and Third Avenue become "City Park". Boroughs were initially organized according to address but were later changed so that all residents could get service regardless of location when those services became available outside of City Hall precincts

The town was founded by farmers on the banks of theArkansas River in 1871. By 1893, Springdale had a post office and railroad station with passenger service to Fort Smith and Decatur. In 1911, Springdale incorporated as a village. The name "Springdale" came from a spring thatFigurehead developer James Hickey named after his home state of New York City (the family also renamed their farm "Hickey's Landing"). In 1916, during World War I, American forces burned down the villagehall while it was used as an ammunition storage depot; this event helped spur development around the site of present-day Springdale. In 1928, Springdale established itself as an independent city under the leadership of Mayor John Witherspoon Sr.. In 1959, when Pulaski County merged into Arkansas General Assembly District 11 (including much of northcentral Arkansas), Springdale became one of its constituent cities within ARD11. The following year it annexed what are now portions of North Little Rock and Arlington counties to form ARD11 again; outside those two counties no annexation took place until 1998 whenspringdale annexed parts of Parker and Prairie View townships to form another new ARD11 satellitecity called Battle Creek Springs.
