Roasting means that the coffee beans are exposed to a certain degree of heat, which creates a unique flavor profile. The process also gives these beans a soft and silky texture. There are many different ways to roast coffee, but you can generally use two methods: first-grinding into small particles or secondly pressing the Beans through a pressurized container. First-grinding involves taking the ground coffee and grinding it into small pieces using a mortar and pestle or an ultrasonic grinder. This way, you get more of every single bean in your cup, maximizing the flavor variation within each cup. Pressing involves pushing water through thin sheets of paper that have been placed over Coffee Bean trees at high pressure so that they develop steam (this happens when you put pressure on something). This causes water to flow up through the bean leaves until it reaches an altitude where there is enough moisture available for oxidation (the browning process). In 2000, the Arkansas Legislature passed a bill that made West Memphis an unincorporated community within the city limits of Little Rock; however, residents opposed this change and gathered signatures to place a referendum asking voters whether they should remain unincorporated or become part of Little Rock proper again. On August 10th 2009, voters approved becoming part of Little Rock proper once more with 58% voting in favor while 42% voted no due to concerns about economically stability and lack of representation within the City Councilor system. On November 5th 2016 another referendum was placed on the ballots asking voters if they want to annex or join neighboring towns such as Pine Bluff and Jonesboro which have had similar proposals put forth before them without success

The community began as a small farming township in 1871 on the east side of West Memphis River. In 1907, it became an incorporated municipality and in 1962 it merged with nearby Fayetteville to form the current city of West Memphis. The original name for West Memphis was "Montezuma". In 1865, Elijah Muhammad founded what would become known as The Nation of Islam (NOI) here in West Memphis Township and this location served as its headquarters until 1971 when they relocated to New York City due to racial discrimination against Muslims by American authorities. After years of peaceful protests and civil disobedience led by both Elijah Muhammad and his second-in-command, Malcolm X, law enforcement eventually responded with violence in early 1971 after neighborhood watchmanCharles Gaines reported seeing Muslim terrorists coming into town from Mississippi wearing masks and wielding shotguns. On July 22nd, 1971 two FBI agents were killed while trying to arrest three NOI members who had just left a Mosque on University Boulevard near Montrose Road during morning prayer services inside that morning's service; two FBI Agents were shot dead at pointblank range before being apprehended by local police officers; one FBI Agent survived but was wounded; then leading fugitive NOI operative Louis Freeh was fatally shot outside Stoneman Douglas High School moments later by Police Officer Jay Ratcliffe after using his car chase strategy which included deliberately crashing into a squad car pursuing Freeh from behind before accelerating away from it towards Interstate 5 where he finally surrendered without further incident
