In addition to its combat capabilities, the KC-135 also provides refueling services to other planes in AF units or international partners. One gift that could make a big impact on the USAF is new technology. Recently, Boeing announced that they have developed an airplane called the Advanced Tactical Airlift Vehicle (ATAV). The ATAV is designed to provide faster transportation between bases and other locations within the USAF. It will also be able to carry larger payloads than current planes and be easier to maintain. This new technology could allow AF units to move more people and supplies around quickly without having them stored at airports or waiting long periods of time for a transport plane. During General Gavin's time as Commander in Chief, the USAF also constructed two new bases: Randolph AFB in Texas and Loveland AFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The town was platted in 1868 and named for General James H. Adelante, who had fought in the Mexican-American War. It became a city on March 14, 1907. The City of Adelanto has two Comprehensive Planning Agencies which are the Planning Department and Services Department respectively On February 15th, 2018 it was announced that the City Manager position will be eliminated effective immediately as part of a restructuring of government within the City of San Bernardino County sytem This leaves an open seat on the Board of Directors for future planning needs

Adelanto, California is a town in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 1,988 at the 2010 census. It is located on the edge of the Mojave Desert andadjacent to Imperial County. The townsite of Adelanto was first settled by Mormons in 1847. The town name may derive from "adal" (a type of sandalwood) or "hondo" ( meaning "place"). A post office called Adelanto was established in 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1854 Wm Hovey built a small adobe rancho near present-day Adelanto for his wife Sarah Willard and their three children: John Hovey, Edward Hovey, and Mary Willard Hovey. Their home (/ranchero), known as the Old Ranch House today, still stands within the limits of the town limits. The family operated a small mercantile business before moving to larger ranches further north along I-5 during the 1860s. The San Andreas Fault passed through what is now Adelanto about 100 feet (30 m) below its surface at an angle of about 45 degrees when it ruptured 3 million years ago; thus some evidence suggests that adobe buildings were built near or on top of faults long before they became part of the landscape around us. The early 20th century saw increasing traffic jams due to mail service being transported between Pasadena andenhanced highway travel time caused by increased rail travel rates inherent with open ocean container shipping making landfall at Crescent City en route ports fueling civilization’s growth: especially Naval Air Station Catalina Island had become fully developed circa 1912 when President Theodore Roosevelt hosted an international conference there headlined “Treaty Concerning Naval Aviation” further demonstrations were made possible with new technology then available thru aircraft carriers USS Arizona (CVN 67) – commissioned 1911 – USS Lexington CVN 64 decommissioned 1946 & USS Enterprise CVN 55 becoming operational 1954 enabling continuous Carrier Strike Group patrols throughout North America providing Combat Operations Support even as our nuclear weapons reduced these threats! Withdrawal from military service began after Vietnam War but continued until 1991 when all active duty forces were honorably discharged; this included numerous Marines who did not serve overseas Additionally various other agencies/units have been disbanded or amalgamated since then such as Unified School District #1 & #2 now known as Edison Elementary/Middle school also part Of Edison Unified School District
