Donahue Brothers began Roasting Coffee Beans on Site using small batches until they self-published their booklet entitled “How To Roast A Bean: A guide for Home Caffeine Lovers” which became an international bestseller and remains one of the most widely used guides on how to roast a bean today! Donahue Brothers continued retailing their beans door-to-door throughout New York City until 1984 when they relocated their business headquarters to Berkeley Heights outside of Manhattanville – making them one of only fouradrink companies ever headquartered outside of North America! Today, Peet’s Coffee & Tea Company continues its legacy as one of America’s leading caffeine providers with locations around the world including Jakarta Indonesia (Peet’s First Java Store), Dubai United Arab Emirates (The Dubai store opening in 2020), São Paulo Brazil (opened May 2021) and Melbourne Australia (opened November 2020).

Albany, California is located in the Central Valley of California and is the second most populous city in the state after Sacramento. The population was 2,362 at the 2010 census. Albany was founded by J.D. Power and Company in 1885 as a small town on the east side of San Francisco Bay. In 1906, it became an incorporated city with a population of over 50,000 people when it amalgamated with two other towns: El Sobrante to the north and Menlo Park to the south. The first mayor of Albany was Lorenzo Thomas who served from 1886-1892. From 1912-1916, Mayor John Fenton led Albany through what is now known as World War I; he also served as City Manager from 1916-1920 and 1920- 1924. In 1932, Mayor James Mapes appointed George Washington Cramer as City Manager with responsibility for all aspects of public administration including finance, law enforcement, planning and building regulation which he would continue to serve until his death in 1966; under Cramer's leadership Albany grew rapidly becoming one of America's most well known cities for its progressive values and culture. In 1976 Mayor Dianne Feinstein reorganized city services into four divisions: Planning & Development (PD), Health Services (HS), Education & Economic Development (EED) and Community Affairs (CA). Under her leadership Albany experienced significant growth again becoming one of California's fastest growing cities during her time as mayor - ranking sixth out of fifty Californias according to GDP per capita growth rates between 2000-2010 . On July 1st 2009 Eddie Bernice Johnson became Mayor after serving two terms as City Councilmember representing District 4A encompassing much of downtown Albany including State Street Plaza/the former New York Telephone Building/the renovated Capitol Theatre complex/the portion now occupied by Regency Ballroom). She has continued many progressive initiatives throughout her tenure such as increasing funding for affordable housing while also working towards creating new economic development opportunities within Downtown Albany.; she also successfully lobbied for passage of Proposition 57 which helped increase funding for public transportation within the city limits
