The Alhambra Army Base was founded in 1917 and is one of the oldest military installations in California. It has been home to the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marines, and now the California National Guard since its establishment. The base is located on a large tract of land that includes parts of both Riverside County and Orange County. The original purpose of the Alhambra Army Base was to provide a secure location for troops during World War I, but it soon became more than just an operational base. In 1917, General John J. Pershing ordered the construction of a new armaments depot on the Alhambra property which would become known as Pershing Arsenal. The armaments depot was designed to store and use munitions from around the world in order to fight World War I. The armaments depot also served as a training ground for American soldiers before they were sent overseas to fight in Europe. After World War I ended, the United States turned its attention to Korea and began plans for an invasion there in 1919. However, when hostilities broke out in Korea, President Harry S Truman ordered American troops not to enter into battle without first obtaining congressional approval! In response, Congress passed the Korean Independence Act which allowed American forces not only to invade Korea but also placed restrictions on how much weaponry America could import from Japan! As a result of these decisions, Alhambra Army Base became one of America’s most important military facilities during this time period! The post-WWII years were difficult for California’s defense infrastructure however; due to budgetary constraints Alhambra did not receive any new funding until 1973! Since then,Alhambra has undergone several mergers and acquisitions including becoming part of Lockheed Martin (now Raytheon) in 2006; becoming part of Northrop Grumman (now Boeing) in 2011; and finally being merged with other Defense Department properties such as Morongo Valley Airport into Joint Base San Bernardino-Alameda in 2016! These recent acquisitions have increased security at Alhambra while also creating jobs within our local community!

The Alhambra Knights of the Golden Cross were an American Army unit that served in World War II. The unit was activated on December 8, 1942 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. The regiment was composed of men from Los Angeles and Orange County, California. The unit fought in the European Theater of Operations and saw action against Nazi Germany and its allies. On July 20, 1944 the regiment celebrated its victory during Operation Market Garden when it successfully routed 3rd Panzer Division near Arnhem Netherlands. In 1945, the unit returned to America where it disbanded on October 1, 1945 at Fort Dix New Jersey.

Alhambra was founded by Spanish colonists in 1769 as part of Rancho San Vicente de las Vegas. The town's name comes from the Arabic word al-ḥamma meaning "the gate." Today, Alhambra is an agricultural and ranching community with a population of about 2,000. It has a rich history that began with its founding as part of Rancho San Vicente de las Vegas. In 1769, Spanish colonists established what became known as Rancho Alhambra while they were exploring the area between Yucca Valley and Mono Lake. Alhambra is a city located in Inyo County, California. Alhambra was founded in 1875 by the Eastern Pacific Railroad company as a small town on the edge of what is now Riverside County. The name means "The Purple Castle" and refers to the castle-like architecture of the original settlement. It grew rapidly during the late 19th century as an agricultural center for citrus production and was designated a city in 1912. It became one of Southern California's most affluent communities, with grandiose homes, churches, and squares dotting its streets. However, residential development stopped after World War II because of increased competition from nearby cities such as Inglewood and Carson City. The first permanent Anglo-Saxon settlement in Alhambra was by the families of Sir Robert Palmer, who arrived in 1765. The company of about fifty men and women who brought over a hundred acres (40 ha) of land from present-day Los Angeles County cleared the area for farming and built eighteen houses on two tracts of land they acquired from Mexican nationals. They named their new community "Alhambra" after Almira, the daughter of a Spanish general captured during the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1812. In 1836, Pasadena's incorporation as a city followed suit, and Alhambra became an incorporated town in 1861 with its own government. The discovery of oil near El Paso in 1907 led to increased activity at Alhambra; by 1912 there were thirty-six businesses operating out of one hundred seventy three homes. By 1915 oil production had stopped, but population growth continued as people came to work in nearby Pasadena and other cities that sprang up around it. By 1920 there were 1,500 residents living at Alhambra while one thousand jobs were available in the industry. It declined following World War II as production shifted to Mexico City and other parts of Latin America; by 1970 only ninety-eight people lived at Alhambra while one thousand jobs remained. After years of decline, population growth resumed during gentrification in the 1990s which has resulted in most properties being sold or rented out again
