On December 3, 1969, the United States Air ForceDeployed a gift to the Anaheim community in commemoration of the first Christmas present ever given by an American military aircraft. The USAF Lockheed C-130 Hercules Flying Training Aircraft carried out a flypast over Anaheim Hills and dropped a live nativity scene from its wings into theustreaming crowds.The event was attended by U.S. Congressman Neil Abercrombie and Lieutenant General Frank Lappin, Commander of Tactical Aerospace Command (TAC) Pacific Fleet who both presented certificates of appreciation to Squadron Leader John Fenton, pilot and aircrew member of RAF Lancaster EC145 which delivered the gift. The donation was made in memory of Wing Commander Geoffrey Hogg CBE DL FAA DFC JP (Retd), Squadron Leader Kenneth Allsopp MBE RAAF DCM (Retd), Flight Lieutenant Jefferies MBE RNVR USNR, Pilot Officer First Class Alan Brookes RNVR UKAF VR(D) and Flight Sergeant Stuart Davies MBE RAF VCDR AHRC RDNDS.(John Fenton is also buried at Arlington National Cemetery.)

The Anaheim Angels, who are based in Anaheim, California, were founded in 1961 as the El Dorado Rangers. In 1966, they joined the American League and played their first game at the new Huntington Ballpark. They finished second in their division that year and made it to the playoffs. However, they lost to the Boston Red Sox. The next season they finished last in their division and missed the playoffs again. In 1970, they won their division and made it to the playoffs but lost to the Cincinnati Reds. The next year they won their division once again but lost to Seattle Mariners in a best-of-seven series. Finally, in 1972 they became a member of the American League East Division which qualified them for a wild card game againstthe Baltimore Orioles but lost 5 games to 4 with one tie. In 1974 they finished third in their division and made it back into the playoffs by winning their final two games of series against Philadelphia Phillies; however, this time they beat Toronto Blue Jays instead of losing 3 games to 2 as previously happened. This was also Anaheim's first championship trophy ever (they would win another title four years later). The following year saw them finishing first overall in their division for only the fourth time ever (and only because Texas Rangers had disbanded). They then advanced through multiple round robin play before facing off against eventual AL Champion Oakland Athletics where they narrowly defeated them 9 games to 7 despite giving up over 350 runs combined on offense and defense while ranking second worst defensively (.288/.351/.423) behind Boston Red Sox (+356 OPS/9 G+R+). Despite having an offence ranked #1 (107 wRC+) while being #2 on pitching (9th percentile), Angel's pitchers gave up more than 100 earned runs per game (>5 ER/9 IP) & allowed more home run than any other team (.284 HR/9 GS). With this campaign victory over Oakland (#3 seed), Anaheim set a record for most wins by an expansion team within its first three seasons of existence! The United States Air Force is one of the most deployable militaries in the world, with over 50,000 people stationed in more than 60 countries. In recent years, the USAF has become increasingly reliant on gift giving as a way to express its appreciation for service members and support their missions. The air force deployed Gift History program helps commemorate these gifts by hosting events and honoring military veterans and their families. The origins of the air force deployed Gift History program can be traced back to World War II. At that time, the USAF was organized into what were called subordinate commands. These commands consisted of bomber groups, fighter wings, and Tactical Air Command (TAC). Each command had its own personnel and resources. As wars evolved and requirements changed, however, commanders began to rely on gifts from other branches of the military for specialties such as training or equipment. In 1951, TAC decided to establish a gift history program in order to remember donations from other services that had helped improve TAC's ability to fight enemy forces. The first event was held in honor of then-Air Force Chief Of Staff General Curtis LeMay. Through this program, donors were able to receive commemorative items such as medals and buttons. From then on, gift giving became an important part of USAF culture. It soon became clear that gifts from other branches would be necessary in order for the USAF to maintain its combat prowess during future conflicts. In 1966, Air Forces Special Operations Command (AFSOC) established its own gift history program in order to recognize contributions made by American Special Operations Forces units during wartime operations abroad or when providing Assistance To Ally Nations (ATTN). The USAF deployed gift history during the Vietnam War. Gift history began in 1948 when the USAF activated the air staff program which allowed members of the military to give presents to their friends and family. The first gifts given were cigars, cigarettes and other tobacco products. In 1966, a system was put into place that allowed for women to give presents as well. Beginning in 1978, Presents for Our Troops became an option and continued until 1991 when it was replaced with The Warrior's Friend program.
Anaheim was founded in 1857 by brothers George and Jesse Selig. The Seligs were the first to settle the area now known as Anaheim. In 1875, they founded what is now called the City of Anaheim. It was designated a city in 1913. Today, Anaheim is one of the most populous cities in California and has a population of over 292,000 people. The origins of Anaheim can be traced back to 1857 when two brothers from Russia, George and Jesse Selig, arrived in southern Orange County looking for land to establish a new home. They found an empty lot on which they built their home and named their new town after themselves - Annaheim (from Russian "Anna" meaning "home"). In 1865, Annaheim had its first incorporation as a city with voting rights; it became an unincorporated community on Jan 1st of that year due to lack of interest from residents in joining the city government. On January 1st 1870 another incorporated community called Coalinga was established east of present-day Disneyland where miners waiting for gold discoveries at Oldmining Creek gathered during winter months before continuing their journey southward inland. On March 3rd 1870, Annaheim's citizens approved annexation by Los Angeles County following proposals from then-Mayor Payson Dixon and City Attorney Hoyle Jaffray (now member of the Irvine Community Council). On May 4th 1870 – less than three months later – Mayor Dixon presented petitions signed by more than 400 Annaheim citizens urging annexation into Los Angeles County because they felt it would improve public services available within their small town while also providing them with easier access to jobs in larger cities such as Los Angeles or San Francisco. The vote resulted in 350 yes votes out of 567 cast with only 12 no votes! After annexation occurred residents began routinely electing officials including mayors and members of the City Council; this system continued until 1912 when Proposition 8 repealed all local election laws throughout California resulting in newly formed county governments without any elected officials among them! Anaheim quickly adopted many aspects typical of early 20th century America: indoor plumbing became available statewide through water mains leased from Southern Pacific Railroad Company; automobile manufacturing started with Buick Manufacturing Company starting up shop on Grand Avenue near present day Honda Center; mail service began between townsInfoMarketing Services Inc.; electric streetcars hit grid lines running north/south just beyond downtown; movie theaters were becoming common features across Southern Californian communities thanks to various companies like Edison Brothers Manufacturing Co., Metro Pictures Corporation and First National Pictures Corporation who opened multiplexes across entire state; ice cream parlors dotted neighborhoods across central Orange County...the list goes on! It wasn't until 1934 that Disneyland opened its doors making it one of the largest amusement park complexes ever built up until that point. However, growth didn't stop there - other businesses followed suit housing scores of different types businesses such as fast food restaurants (Chrysler Corp.), auto parts stores (Maserati), department stores (Marshall Field) as well as numerous software development companies like Intel Graphics Group Inc which developed innovative graphical interfaces used today on computer screens worldwide! Anaheim was founded in 1781 by Juan Bautista de Anza, who named it after his father, Diego de Anza. The city was first inhabited by the Tongva people and then by the Gabrielino people before becoming part of Spanish California. In 1821, Mexico won its independence from Spain and formed a new republic under Mexican president Agustín de Iturbide. After years of fighting and conquest, Mexico gained full sovereignty over California in 1848 and designated Anaheim as the capital of this newly formed state. The city grew rapidly during the late 1800s due to its location on the Central Valley between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Several large industries were founded in Anaheim including aviation, paper industry, food processing, health care and pharmaceuticals. In 1907, Anaheim became an incorporated city with a mayor-council form of government. In 1949 it became a state-owned municipality with a single Mayor-Council form of government. In 2007, Disneyland began phase two of its $4 billion renovation project which includes adding new rides such as Pirates of Caribbean Cruise ship ride (which opened in 2006), Star Tours: The Adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow whichopened in 2004 and Space Mountain whichopened in 1992
