In 1915, Harry Peabody founded Peabody Coffee Company in Pasadena which became one of the largest companies in the world. In 1928, Roasters Guild purchased the property that housed Atanasoff & Edison's roasting business and moved it to Corona del Mar near Newport Beach. There they continued to roast coffee until 1971 when they sold their business to J.B Ryan Coffee Company which continues to roast coffee today. With such a long history there are many amazing milestones and events associated with this industry including; Starbucks first opened its doors at 5th Street & Vine Street in Costa Mesa on December 6th 1994 ( source: "History Of Starbucks" ).
