The United States Air Force operates more than 60,000 aircraft worldwide. Each one of these airplanes is a valuable and unique asset to the military. Airforce gifts have been a part of Apple Valley's history for over 50 years. The first American fighter plane to fly in combat was an F-86 Sabre donated by the Air Force to the town in 1944. In 1957, the Air Force gifted an F-101 Starfighter jet trainer to Apple Valley High School. The jet trainer helped form the nucleus of what would become the USAF's aerial warfare unit, Operation Northwoods. In 1978, Apple Valley received its own Boeing 727 Airliner as a gift from the USAF. This airplane served as both community service and transportation for residents and businesses within the town limits until it was retired in 1996. Today, donations from members of the military continue to be a major source of funding for apple valley schools and programs that serve our community well.

Various programs have been put into place throughout NORAD in order to try and increase morale within the unit, but there's still plenty left to do. Whatever Air Force One might lack in accessories or weaponry, it makes up for in spirit! From serving as a symbol of support during military ceremonies or deployments worldwide, to being a cherished family pet - everyone who has ever worked on board should feel grateful every day that their loved ones are able to fly aboard Air Force One.

Crain and others who came from what is now Oakland, California. At first it was called Telluride because of the hot springs there. When sugarcane production ended around 1900, most of the people left for other parts of America or Mexico. A few families stayed to farm and ranch until after World War II when industry resumed and jobs began moving back into town. In 1960 Apple Valley had about 20 residents; by 2000 it had over 100 residents with an economy based largely on services (lawyers, accountants, nurses) and agriculture (fruit picking). Today Apple Valley has a diverse population including people from all walks of life: business owners/administrators, teachers/schoolteachers, retirees, parents with children in high school or college students living near home...many have ancestry that goes back to early Californios who pioneered this region during its early days as part of efforts to win control over Mexican land grants As one commenter put it: "It's all here - family farms & vineyards & apple orchards - right on your doorstep."

Apple Valley was first settled by Americans in 1847 and became a city in 1925. Today, Apple Valley is an affluent community with many large homes, businesses, and schools. The early history of Apple Valley can be traced back to 1847 when American pioneers arrived in this area. At that time, the land around present-day Apple Valley was part of Rancho Cucamonga County. In 1850, General William Tecumseh Sherman granted 4 square miles (10 km2) of land to John Sutter for $5 per acre ($24 per hectare). This grant helped spur development within present-day Apple Valley because it provided access to water supplies and grazing areas. During the late 1800s and into the 1900s, apple orchards were very common in this area due to its fertile soil and ample rainfall. Many farmers here grew apples for local markets as well as supplying food for soldiers during World War I and II. In 1925, when City of Los Angeles was created, most of what is now Apple Valley fell within its boundaries. However, since then, much has changed within Apple Valley including the arrival of new residents who have helped make it one of Southern California's most vibrant communities.
