The Arcadia Coast Guard Station is one of the oldest and most important Coast Guard stations in California. The station has been serving the community since 1881. The Coast Guard Station was founded on December 12, 1881 as a small detachment of the San Francisco Bay Police Department. It grew over time and by 1907 it had become its own department. In 1933, the Coast Guard Station adopted its present name - Arcadia Coast Guard Station - in honor of town namesake, Archibald Seawright. Since then, the station has played an essential role in keeping our community safe and secure. From providing law enforcement services to handling emergencies such as fires or accidents, the station plays a critical role in safeguarding our citizens and property.
