Many notable landmarks in the town include The Chafee House Museum which preserves chafee furniture from that era along with other artifacts from his life; The Municipal Courthouse which served as the seat of government from 1907 until 1951; The original Adobe Walls studio where American painter Elliott Cowan worked during the 1960s; And finally nearby Dominguez Hills where many famous architects such as Frank Gehry have designed homes or businesses over the years.
