In 2006, a new small batch coffee company opened up in the same plaza as Prairie Java. This company was called "Artemis." Artemis served smaller batches of coffee until 2009. Then, in 2011, another small batch coffee company opened up in the same plaza as Prairie Java and called it "Blue Bottle Coffee." Blue Bottle Coffee served smaller batches of coffee until 2013. Since then, there have been several more small batch coffee companies that have opened up around Artesia over the years. These companies have all offered different types ofsmallbatchcoffee- including cold brews and macchiatos- and continue to serve these beverages even when they are not available at The Coffee House or Prairie Java anymore.
