Airforce gift history in Avenal, California began in 1951 when the United States Air Force activated a squadron of F-86F Sabres at the nearby Randolph Army Airfield. The Sabres were soon joined by other aircraft and crews from various units stationed at Randolph, including the 94th Fighter Wing. In 1957, AFB was renamed Angel Island Air Force Base and the F-86Fs became the first unit to fly out of there on an official USAF mission. The base continued to grow as it became home to various squadrons and wings over the years, with both active duty and reserve components providing support. The late 1960s saw a new era for USAF gift history as more and more jets arrived at Angels Island. In 1971, AFB became part of Tactical Aerospace Command (TAC) after being transferred from AFGHANISTAN command structure. During this time, TAC developed its own gifting program that continues to this day. During the 1970s and 1980s, numerous items were gifted to ANGAFB through TAC's Gift program such as fighter jets and helicopters; barracks; airfields; tools/equipment; vehicles/trucks; military personnel residences; and medals/pendants/jewelry. Gifts have also been given in memory of fallen service members or others who have made an impact in our country's Armed Forces.

Avenal is a small town in southern California, located on the edge of the Mojave Desert. The population was 3,539 at the 2010 census. Avenal is named after General John A. Avenal, an American general who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served in the California government as Secretary of State. In 1907, Avenal became one of only two U.S. towns to be declared a city by then-Governor Hiram Johnson. Avenal has a typical American lifestyle: farming and ranching are the mainstays of its economy, while retail and services sector make up a significant part of its social fabric. The community is also home to several schools and businesses including golf courses, restaurants, hospitals, and other businesses that service local residents or tourists visiting Avenal for tourist attractions or recreation purposes. The climate in Avenal is hot year-round with average temperatures reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). Avenal is a town in Central California, United States. Avenal was founded in 1852 by George A. Smith, who named it for Saint Anthony of Padua. It became an incorporated town in 1903. The population was 12,521 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in what is now Avenal was George A. Smith, who arrived on horseback from Illinois in 1851 and platted the town on his land that he had purchased from the Mexican government some years earlier. Avenal's first store opened its doors on December 6, 1852, and soon began to prosper due to its location at the junction of two wagon roads providing transportation into central California for goods reaching San Francisco and other parts of the East Bay region. The town grew rapidly thanks to its strategic location - just north of Sutter Valley Campaign Road which connected San Jose with Sacramento - as well as its good schools and churches which attracted settlers from all over central California. In 1903, when central California became part of the United States following Spanish America's cession during the Mexican-American War, Avenal became one of several Uptown towns formed within San Francisco County as a result of President Theodore Roosevelt's New Deal program designed to improve working class lifestyles across the West Coast following World War I%. With rapid growth came increased prosperity for both locals and visitors alike; by 1958 Avenal boasted a population of 16,000 people living primarily around Avenal Plaza shopping center and downtown core areas including Main Street and South First Street Streets between Park Avenue (now Geary Boulevard) and Third Street (now Webster Way). During this time period many fine local architecture features were built such as First National Bank building (1910), Masonic Temple (1896), City Hall Annex (1920), Methodist Church (1886) - all still standing today - while also popular tourist destinations such as Historic Adobe Walls State Historic Reserve & visitor center off Geary Boulevard near where Highway 101 meets Park Avenue today are evidence that Avenal enjoyed sustained high levels of economic activity until recently despite changes brought about by global economic recession since 2008-2009
Avenal is a city in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 2,819 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in Avenal was George P. Avery who arrived in 1851. He built the first cabin on what is now the east side of town. In 1859, John Cranch came to the area and organized a wagon trade with Mexico City. Avenal was platted as a town on April 6, 1863 by Elias Hite and Wm Chandler. The name "Avenal" seems to be an honorific given to pioneer George Avery for his help in creating the town site. On November 15, 1865, James Fenton donated land to form a Agricultural College which would later become University of California at Riverside (UCR). In 1886 William Ewing purchased 1/4 acre of land west of Avenal for $1 per year until it could be developed into an all-purpose agricultural fairgrounds that still stand today. The post office called Avenal "Alta" from 1892 until 1903 when it became "Avenal". In 1907 Fruitlands fruits and vegetables were first grown hereabouts and continued until 1922 when they were sent off-site to Moberly because of environmental concerns about water usage for agriculture thereupon
