Baldwin Park is a small town located in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,539 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Joaquin Valley and is adjacent to Stockton and Claremont. The first settlers in Baldwin Park were three men who came from Illinois in 1868: George Fenton, Willard Goodwin, and James Hennigan. In 1874, James Winton bought a piece of land east of present-day Baldwin Park from John Cranch for $400. The first store opened in this location on December 12th, 1874 by Winton and his brother-in-law Amos Loomis. A post office called Baldwin Park was established in 1890, but it was discontinued after only five months. In 1907, orderlies for the city of Stockton were sent to Baldwin Park because there was an outbreak of cholera there. On October 15th that year saw the opening of the first grocery store in the town when Julius Kapp became the owner and operator of the Cactus Garden Grocery Store on Santa Fe Avenue. Other early stores included Mrs Parsons' Shop (now closed), Harry's Hardware (now closed), Mr & Mrs Smith's Bakery (closed 1989), Pigeon Forge Dairy (closed 1990) and Joe's Diner (now closed). In 1928 Sam Scudder opened his automotive repair shop at 901 Broadway which became one of downtown Stockton’s most popular tourist attractions until it burned down during a storm on November 5th1975;Scudder rebuilt his business at 602 Broadway which still stands today as One North Main Street Auto Repair Inc., blocks away from where he originally operated his business...Through these businesses owners had helped support local commerce while also enjoying quality family time together outdoors with their friends or neighbors before returning home for dinner each night... Today many families still gather around their Sunday dinners inside or outside one or more neighborhood homes hereabouts as they have done for generations past!

Baldwin Park is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 34,611 at the 2000 census. It is the second most populous city in San Bernardino County after Redlands and part of the new Riverside-San Bernardino metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Baldwin Park was Wm. H. Baldwin who arrived in 1871. He built a small Rancho Cucamonga on his land which he sold to George Hinkle in 1875 for $5,000 (). In 1876, Harry Janklow moved from Russia to Baldwin Park and opened an Emporium store there with help from his brother Julius Janklow (). In 1893, Hiram Sievers bought of land east of present day Baldwin Park from Wm. H. Baldwin and platted it into two blocks - North block (later renamed East block) and South block (). The first building on North block was the Sievers Hotel (), which still exists today as the downtown business district's only preserved building. Baldwin Park saw its early development years through incorporation as a town on February 14, 1904 by then-Mayor Denton Aisner with one representative from each of its three wards () - City Hall (west), Mine Hill (east), and Indian Hills (north). On December 3rd of that year voters passing An Act creating Municipal District No 2 approved by referendum voted to annex all of unincorporated areas lying within what are now portions of neighboring cities – Redlands (to the south), Moreno Valley (to the north) and Jurupa Valley (to the east). This act created Angeles National Forest where present day Pasadena lies
