Barstow is a small community located in the Mojave Desert of California. The name comes from Spanish meaning "Bay of Barstows." The community was founded in 1909 by developers who named it after the town of Bartow, Florida. It lies on Interstate 5 and is about 25 miles east of Las Vegas. The first post office in Barstow was established in 1912. In 1957, the telephone exchange moved to Barstow from Las Vegas. As of 2016, there are only two remaining businesses in the community: a gas station and a grocery store. As one of the few communities between Los Angeles and Phoenix without any commercial development, Barstow has seen quite a bit of growth over the years. In 2007, it had an estimated population of just under 2,000 people. By 2018, that figure had reached 5,500 residents! In addition to its burgeoning population and cultural diversity, another key reason for its popularity is its proximity to both Las Vegas and Joshua Tree National Park. With easy access to both cities and plenty of activities available within minutes’ drive (including visiting Hoover Dam), this makes BARSTOW one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Southern California!
The history of maga coffee goes back centuries. The beans that we now know as maga coffee were first grown in the region that is now Turkey. They were used to make a type of tea that was called “maga” and it was very popular with the Turks. Maga tea was made from two different types of beans: an outer layer of ground black beans, and an inner layer of roasted white beans. It was good for invalids because it had a high caffeine content. In the 1800s, Turkish traders started trading with India and Middle Eastern countries. They brought back many different kinds of plants and animals which gave rise to new varieties of coffee trees in those countries. One such variety, known as the Ethiopian Amani Coffee, became very popular among the Turks because it had a strong flavor and low acidity. During World War I, Turkey helped Allied forces by importing millions of pounds of coffeebeans from Europe. This allowed Turkish farmers to survive during difficult times and help create a new economic system in Turkey that continues today.

In 1853, the U.S. Geological Survey named Barstow after a town in California. At the time it was just a small farming community of about 100 people and no more than five miles from what is now Interstate 10. But over the next few years, Barstow quickly became a major center for mining and ranching in southeastern California. In 1861, when Californio Mexican soldiers attacked an American military expedition near present-day Barstow, some of the Americans were killed, including Captain John Cogswell and his son Samuel Cogswell. The event helped to start the California Gold Rush and led to increased development in Barstow and other areas around Coalinga (now Redding). The first post office at Barstow was established on July 14, 1857; its name was changed to Redding on October 1, 1865. The population of Barstow peaked at 500 in 1880 but declined thereafter due to factors such as growing access to transportation and trade routes outside of Southern California. However, growth continued in nearby Coalinga through the 1920s until barbed wire separated those communities by then-rural Buena Park into two separate suburbs: Eastside and Westside. By 1990, only 5 percent of the workforce still lived inside Redding city limits while 95 percent worked within one mile of where they lived or had jobs that connected with local businesses outside of town proper. Today there are only a handful of remaining businesses left alongarer streets serving mostly suburban customers who rely heavily upon trucking services delivered right through their doorsteps instead of walking orDriving far away for goods they may not even need
