The Beaumont Marine Museum is a history museum that preserves and displays maritime artifacts from the Beaumont area. The museum was founded in 1965 by Mrs. Lillian Pritchard with the help of her husband, Dr. H.L.Pritchard, a marine biologist and curator at the California Academy of Sciences. Since its inception, the museum has collected items related to maritime life in the Beaumont area, including ship models, anchors, oars and other vessels used on inland waterways and coastal waters throughout California; fossils from Jurassic period marine plants and animals found along Coastal California's beaches; paintings, prints and sculptures depicting aspects of Californian coastal life during this time period; as well as an extensive collection of natural sciences specimens from both land and sea. The museum’s collection has been displayed in various locations around town since its inception but it now occupies a new building on Commerce Street in downtown Beaumont. The building was designed by local architect Hume Brownell and built for $2 million dollars with donations raised through community events such as caroling nights at local churches or fund-raisers like “Sailing for America” which involved memberships in sailing clubs across the state to raise money for charity . In addition to its permanent exhibit space inside the new building, the museum offers special exhibitions each year focusing on a different aspect of maritime history or culture in Southern California . These exhibitions include “A History of Fishing Vessels: 1850-2002″ which showcased fishing vessels dating back over fifty years from various parts of Southern California ; “Beach Volcanoes: Their Development and Mysticism” which explored howVolcanoes have played an important role in Beach Life since Prehistoric times ; “From Sailors to Scientists: How Maritime Technology Shaped Our Worldview” featured research into how technology has shaped our understanding of seafarers over time ; “Maritime Heritage Trail: highlights from Calaveras County” highlighting examples of places where maritime heritage remains prominent today ; while also every other year features a themed exhibition revolving around one specific topic such asPOETS – People Offering Services To Community Organizations during Shipwrecks (2018 theme: Sharks In The Bay) or CRAFT – Creative Arts And Crafts Related To Maritime History (2018 theme: American Made).

The museum was founded in 1998 by entrepreneur, author and collector Laura Koppenhaver. Kappenhaver had been researching her book “A History of Seafarers” and realized that there was not enough information available on the history of maritime gifts. She decided to start a museum in order to share this information with others who may be interested in learning more about this important aspect of maritime history. Since its inception, the Marine Gift History Museum has collected over 2,000 items from sailors around the world. This material has been used to create an exhibit on marine gift giving, as well as a library ofOVERSEAS GIFT HISTORY books for visitors to borrow. In addition to their collection of antique vessels and objets d’art, the museum also offers classes on maritime gift history,ignorance towards maritime gifts and how to give a Maritime gift safely. Beaumont, California is located in the Central Valley of California. The city was founded on December 12, 1871 by General James L. Beaumont and his wife Mary C. Beaumont. The City of Berkeley was founded on February 2, 1877 by Commodore John D. Stockton and Mayor George Hearst. The town of Redding was founded in 1911 by J.D. Payne and Hilda Dodge Whitney as a commercial center for the central valley area after they abandoned their previous towns in the Gold Rush era. In 1932, Beaumont became an incorporated city with a population of over 50,000 people when it annexed part of the neighboring town of Rio Linda. In 1942-1943, Beaumont was hit with two bombings that killed at least six people and injured dozens more within days of each other - the first bombing to occur in the United States during World War II In 1950s and 1960s there were many changes taking place in Beaumont including protests against American involvement in Vietnam which led to singer/songwriter Bob Dylan performing at Beaumont High School's Civic Auditorium on November 3rd 1964 while thousand students from all over America were watching; this event helped start what would become known as "The Generation That Would Come" movement promoted by urban youth movements such as SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) and YOLO (Yes We Can). As time went on things changed again with hippies moving into town during 1967-1968 and then further changes leading up to be declared an open-air shopping mall called "Beaumont Place" following developer Donny Deutsch's purchase in 1968; however due to environmental concerns this mall closed down several years later following heavy fire damage Since 2000s there have been few major changes taking place within the community with most people living relatively unchanged except for some sporadic construction projects that usually lead to increased traffic congestion or noise issues
