The Bellarmine Army National Guard (ANG) was first mobilized in 1942 when the United States entered World War II. The A NG was formed as a result of the National Defense Act of 1941 and activated on October 15, 1942. The A NG operated out of Camp Hood in Austin, Texas untilactivated on November 1, 1945. In 1946, the A NG was re-formed as the Bellarmine Armoured Cavalry Regiment and activated at Fort Hood with elements from other army units. On September 18, 1951, the regiment became activationd again and designated as part of 4th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana. On January 9, 1957 the division relocated to Okinawa where it served until December 1963 when it returned to Fort Polk for redeployment to Germany after Operation Berlin which ended World War II. On July 16, 1967 elements from the Bellarmine Armoured Cavalry Regiment deployed to Vietnam with 3rd Brigade Combat Team 2nd Infantry Division arriving in Hanoi on August 20th followed by 5th Brigade Combat Team 1st Infantry Division arriving on September 12th while 8th Brigade Combat Team 2nd Infantry Division arrived on October 26th. In total there were 11 brigade combat teamsDeployed across South Vietnam along with artillery support and airmobile capabilities making this one of America's largest military deployments during that time period. Bell (Calif.) is a small city in the San Joaquin Valley of California, United States. The population was 9,883 at the 2010 census. It is located in Inyo County. The first Europeans to visit what is now Bell were stagecoach drivers and guides from Mexico City who stopped on the route along which today's Interstate 880 runs. With SP construction came new industry such as cotton ginning and breadmaking,[4][5] giving rise to local businesses such as Armour & Co.'s bakery[6][7][8] and Jno.[9][10] In 1916 local architect Harry Weese designed a new courthouse for $25,000 which still stands today across from Union Station; it replaced an earlier courthouse built in 1887 by George Stephenson Bidwell that had been destroyed by fire[11].
