The USAF was created as a result of Congress passing the National Security Act of 1947, which provides for the organization and operation of the United States Air Forces. The act also directed that it be established within two years. On July 1, 1947, Headquarters USAF was activated and took office at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. In 1951, Headquarters USAF relocated to MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. In 1956 HQ moved back to Dayton and became the Directorate of Intelligence Activities (DIA). DIA played an important role in developing air defense doctrine during the Cold War era and continues to do so today. On October 15, 1959 Headquarters USAF transferred from Air Command to Military Airlift Command under command of General James E. Killian Jr., Commander-in-Chief AMC. This move increasedAir Mobility Command's presence on military installations all over America while reducing its dependence on fighter aircraft that were less reliable during wartime time periods such as Korea or Vietnam. In 1966 Headquarters USAF transferred from AESC to Tactical Aerospace Defense Command (TADCOM) under command of General Thomas Kappler III Chairman Chiefs Joint Chiefs Legislative Staff Group (JCS SG) after ADC became too large and unwieldy following enactment of Appropriations Bill No 411 which made DOD more autonomous by consolidating many commands into one body responsible for all DoD activities not previously within separate organizations performing various functions simultaneously without any unified commander having overall responsibility for all matters relating thereto - including intelligence collection through electronic intelligence technology research and development (EIRT&D), operational planning and execution; acquisition management; post combat cleanup/reorganization; financial management; personnel management; sustainment support function clarification - this arrangement left ADC commanders with little control over their units' missions or resources available for operations outside their areas of responsibility without prior notification to their superiors or specific direction from headquarters."
Bellflower, California is a small town in the Central Valley of Southern California. The population was 7,814 at the 2010 census. It is located in Kern County. The first Europeans to visit what is now Bellflower were horseback riders and Mexicans who came down the San Joaquin River in 1846 to trade goods with the Native Americans. The town was founded by Captain George Hinkle in 1875 on land that he bought from José María Cámpora and his family after they had been driven out of their rancho (farm). In 1892, Bellflower became part of the newly created Los Angeles metropolitan area and experienced rapid growth due to its location as an agricultural center for farming communities around Los Angeles and its access to transportation via railroads. Growth stopped when World War II began and agriculture transitioned into an industrial economy; however, local businesses have kept alive the community spirit through events such as summer carnivals and bowling tournaments. During the 1990s, a movement emerged to preserve much of downtown Bellflower's historic architecture includingEthnic Chinese stuccoed houses dating back to 1906-1907 which are now being restored by volunteers under the auspices of Historic Preservation Foundation Incorporated (HPFI). The effort has led to several changes within local government since then - among them approval of a master plan that calls for preservation of more than 100 contributing buildings within city limits; creation of heritage districts for certain neighborhoods around downtown which will enjoy protection against gentrification; and establishment of a fund intended solely for restoration efforts across all types of properties owned or leased by city governments throughout Kern County from pre- 1900 through present day .
Bellflower was founded on May 14, 1894 by a group of businessmen from Pasadena. The town grew rapidly and soon had a post office, hotel, and other businesses. In 1916, the town was incorporated as Bellflower Township. In 1948, the township became an independent city and retains its name to this day.
