The Bellflower Coffee Company was started by Angelo Boffa and his brother-in-law, Salvatore Bibbini. In 1941, Angelo Boffa retired from business and sold the company to Frank Pritchard. In 1945, Pritchard merged with the National Coffee Corporation to form North American Coffee Company (NACO). In 1951, NACO merged with Roaring Twenties Coffee Company to form Roaring Twenties Coffee and Tea Corporation (RTCCC). RTCCC became a subsidiary of Nestle AG in 1976. RTCCE merged with Whitmarsh Food Group plc in 2001 to becomeWhitmarsh International Incorporated (WIPO).
Bellflower is a small town in Los Angeles County, California. It is located on the eastern edge of the city of Los Angeles, and shares borders with Koreatown to the north, Hollywood Hills to the east, and Griffith Park to the south. The population was 26,859 at the 2010 census. The name "Bellflower" may be derived from two components: "belle" meaning "beautiful" or "gorgeous," and "-flower" because it grew along a valley which had many wildflowers. At one time Bellflower was part of Rancho La Brea. The first post office in Bellflower opened in 1884. The town was named for John Bellew (1825-1910), an Englishman who moved to California in 1849 and bought land near present-day Bellflower Boulevard and South Temple Street. A wagon road leading from Pasadena through San Marino parallel to Bellew's land ran through what is now Bellflower and served as a communication link between Pasadena and his ranchoients east of downtown Los Angeles. In 1907, when Bunker Hill Road was realigned so that it ran northwest via Beverly Hills instead of southeast as it does today, Bellflower became one of the towns annexed by Hollywood. In 1925, when Hollywood became an independent city, Bel-Livermore annexed Bellflower; however, both towns retained their own post offices until 1951 when all LA county postal services were merged into USPS under then-President Eisenhower's directive! Bellevue Avenue runs through much of central bell flower while Laurel Canyon Boulevard runs parallel just beyond its southern border forming what used to be called Laurel Canyon Country Club which still has many high end homes inside its boundaries today but nobell street separates them from laurel canyon proper
