Only 201 people lived in Belmonte single family homes through 2010; most were renters or low-income homeowners who did not own their home outright but leased it from someone else for use as a residence or business office. In recent years there has been significant development around downtown: several restaurants have opened up including Five Barrels BBQ (now known as Rockport BBQ), LiveWire Coffee & Pastries which replaced Starbucks before being closed down due to high rent prices, and Downtowner's Tavern which reopened after being closed for 3 years due to budget cuts that effected all businesses within walking distance from the stadium complex where games were played between 2002 and 2009 . Downtown also saw construction over the last few years including an addition to City Hall which houses city services such as firefighting and public works while two new schools were built: One housing students grades K-12 while another provides instruction for adults formerly taught at local schools outside of town limits until they moved into new buildings in 2016 adjacent to Interstate 5 near Yosemite National Park There has also been redevelopment around Interstate 5 with new apartments being constructed along I-5 southbound access just west of Belmont High School across from Regency Field House which served as both a gymnasium/ Recreational Center during college baseball games during off season[2] and now serves as one stoplight away from many apartment complexes near Interstates 5 southbound exit ramps serving destinations such as Del Norte County Airport A state run casino called Soma Casino was planned to open next door but never materialized . Finally some residential developments have been built near I-5 east side exits serving areas such as Downey Village; these include Villages at I-5 Eastside Crossing[3], Sunrise Canyon[4], Northwoods Estates[5], Sunburst Ridge[6], Desert Edge Place[7] The town contains no shopping mall although there are several convenience stores along US 101 close to downtown including Walmart Supercenter , Safeway , Kroger , Albertsons , BP gas station - future plans call for this location to become an apartment complex with multiplexes inside This lack of mall may be partially due to its location within commuting distance (and easy access)of larger cities like Fresno or Sacramento but also could be attributed to competition from neighbouring towns that offer more comprehensive shopping experiences
